To keep up with powering the most innovative projects, products and platforms in web3, it’s crucial that we maintain optimized node networks. These networks empower users to contribute computing power to the decentralized network through GalaChain’s cutting edge DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network), essentially turning community computers into employees of the blockchain and rewarding operators for their time and energy.
While GalaChain was being created from the ground up by our team of blockchain experts, tokenization of node licenses was always an important part of the vision. A key benefit to blockchain is the user’s ability to own tokenized items on their terms, so a license to operate a DePIN node for rewards should be no exception.
As recently announced in this blog, Founder’s Nodes and Common Ground World Nodes would be the first nodes in the GalaChain network to undergo this “tokenization” process.
Today, we’re pleased to announce that Common Ground World Nodes have now made GalaChain history, becoming the first tokenized node licenses in the GalaChain ecosystem.
Node Workload NFTs
Throughout the history of the decentralized Gala ecosystem, node licenses have been issued as account locked items, making them unable to be transferred or traded. With Node Workload NFTs, operators are becoming empowered to trade their licenses with one another for the first time.
Please note that the Node Workload NFT is not the node itself, but the tokenized license to operate the node for rewards. No matter which node network (there are already several and more in the works), the node is run using the GalaChain node client on the operator’s computer.
By transferring a Node Workload NFT to another user, you are also giving them the right to operate that node and receive the rewards that come with it.
Initial Features
The Common Ground World team is bravely leading the way into this uncharted territory by tokenizing licenses for Common Ground World Nodes. This is a crucial step before the upcoming release of Common Ground World Guilds, which promises to be a truly game-changing feature for Gala’s flagship game of town and city builders.
Your Node Workload NFTs will initially be transferable to other users and bridgeable to the Ethereum blockchain for external trade. However, please note that your Node Workload NFT must be on GalaChain to run your workload.
Future Features
The ability to list your Node Workload NFTs on GalaSwap will be added with a future update.
Allocation of CGW Node Workload NFTs
For anyone who purchased Common Ground World Node (formerly known as Town Star Node) licenses in a previous sale, you will receive a number of Node Workload NFTs that corresponds to the amount you spent on your CGW Node license in the original sale.
Around midday on March 27th, operators should have received 1 Node Workload NFT for each $1000 spent on the license in the original sale. For example, if you spent $1000, you should have received 1 Node Workload NFT, but if you spent $4000, you should have received 4.

As we continue to nurture and expand the vibrant ecosystem of Common Ground World on GalaChain, we’re preparing to introduce a game-changing new feature that has been highly anticipated by our dedicated fan base: Guilds.
Tied intrinsically to Common Ground World Node ownership, Guilds represent a new frontier. The unique blend of collaboration, strategy, and competition of Guild play will offer an all around game enhancement to our flagship game.
Very soon, Common Ground World Nodes will become the first tokenized Node licenses in the Gala Games ecosystem, as announced in this blog. Following the release of GalaChain’s first Node Workload NFTs, Common Ground World’s Node-powered Guilds are scheduled for release in late April 2024. This update is set to transform how players interact within the digital landscape of Common Ground World.
Building and Guilding: A New Chapter Begins
Any owner of a Common Ground World Node Workload NFT (once minted) will have the opportunity to create their own Guild. This pivotal step involves:
Selecting a Node upon which to form a Guild
Assigning a name for the Guild
Assigning a unique tag for the Guild
Creating a description for the Guild
Gathering up to 20 Guild members to share in the Guild’s benefits
Guild leaders are endowed with the power to curate their Guild NFT Library, which operates essentially like a real library. The Guild Leader may place NFTs within the Guild Library and those NFTs can then be checked out by a single player at a time. This system gives each Guild a new level of maneuverability, cooperation and strategic control, allowing Guildmates to plan and borrow NFTs from the Guild Library as needed to maximize their gameplay.

Joining a Guild: Unite for Greater Achievements
The formation of Guilds opens the door for any Gala user without a Guild to join forces with others. By accepting an invitation or applying to a Guild, members can reap the benefits of all NFTs within the Guild Library.
Each Node Workload NFT will represent one Guild, and each Guild will allow up to 20 players. Basically, every worthy and dedicated player who wants to join a Guild will have access to one–They may even face a difficult decision about which Guild to join.
Guild membership amplifies each player’s prowess within the game while fostering a sense of camaraderie and collective achievement, uniting Guildmates through Guild Competitions.

With the incorporation of Guilds into Common Ground World, we are setting the stage for an era of unparalleled cooperation, but also introducing a new level of competition. As all you IRL ice cream connoisseurs know, icy treats can get pretty extravagant, especially on the competitive and gourmet level. With Legacy ice cream, like all available product lines, the name of the game is creating something that really stands out in the competitions.
Start producing your own ice cream creations now to take home Gems in the Design Competitions. But we must warn you–Producing ice cream on the design table may unleash the craving, so be sure to keep your real ice cream further than arm’s length while you play!

Your town’s workers will absolutely love this first update–They’ve all gotten a pay raise, so pat yourself on the back. We’re certain that their increased motivation will make the additional expense well worth it for your growing business.
New Paints, Patterns and Stickers have been added to the Design Table’s right side drawers, enhancing your ability to customize your products! Don’t forget–You can also update your avatar with the latest colors and patterns to give yourself that business chic edge.

Great news for Guild leaders! Every single one of you now has a lot more Legacy Keys up for grabs, so get ready to accept eager new upstarts to share your success.
To play Legacy, you must join a Guild, because you just can’t make it alone in the business world. Every Guild leader gets a number of Legacy Keys, based on the rarity of their Land Deed. With this update, every Guild leader now starts with 5 times as many Legacy Keys!
Keep in mind that the Legacy Key numbers listed below only refer to starting Keys, and owners will later have the ability to purchase more Legacy Keys for their Guilds.
