Similar to the most recent limited edition, the WhaleShark Tank, the Scorpion can only be purchased for 1 week following the publishing of this post, and only while supplies last. If you hurry, then you could be the one doing the stinging. If not, you might get stung!

The Scorpion Tank

This Tank has a unique scorpion-shaped body, complete with intimidating pincers that pinch the air in anticipation of its prey, and creepy skittering legs whose movement will make your opponents’ skin crawl. Its weapon is a thing of destructive beauty, appropriately named The Stinger. The Stinger shoots blobs of acid toward enemies causing significant damage with every hit, and also triggering a temporary slow-down effect that will give you a chance to reposition for the next attack!

Special Playtest Extension

The awesome team at GAMEDIA has agreed to extend the Beta Playtest until October 17th, in order to give newcomers and Scorpion operators a chance to test their metal!

Remember that in order to participate in this playtest, you must own a Tank. This means that you can either own a combination of a Body and a Weapon, or a full Tank, such as the WhaleShark or the Scorpion!

One of the most important reasons for this website was the addition of strategy guides focusing on different aspects of the game. Initially the site is populated with 14 strategy guides, but dozens more are still to come. They will be added gradually over the coming weeks.

These strategy guides are designed to point newer players in directions that will allow them to learn and love Town Star as much as we do. Most of them do not contain incredibly detailed information, but we are confident that they are exactly the kind of instruction manual style info that 99% of new players are after.

The Town Star blog will be gradually transitioning from here on Medium to the new Town Star website, where it is all presented with a charming small town newspaper theme.

Gameplay

In the Gameplay section, you’ll find articles that explain the basics of Town Star, from descriptions of the Weekly Competition Server, to rundowns of game controls and how to access building features.

Almanac (Coming Soon)

The Almanac is a work in progress that will chronicle past Town Star information. This will include past competition winners, details of meta changes, and possibly give examples of play-to-earn reward values.

It is our hope that the Town Star Almanac will become an essential catchup for devoted Town Star players, as well as an interesting and fun read for those who are new to the game.

About the Galaverse

Gala Games is leaving the conventional aspects of the convention behind, creating something incredible and unique with this epic in-person event. There will be a variety of worlds to explore, creatively built from the concepts of your favorite Gala Games titles. There will be early access releases, VIP entertainment, wining and dining and more. You’ll get the latest news of exciting things to come and even some sneak peaks of things further down the road. There will be gifts and prizes. Most importantly, this is your opportunity to personally meet members of the Gala Games team.

Galaverse Tickets

Passes will be sold starting on Sunday, October 10th. They will be sold through the Gala Games store as blockchain NFTs in 3 different rarities.

These NFT passes will not have any future utility outside of representing admission to a day of the into the galaverse event, but they will always belong to you as a unique collectible reminder of the incredible time you had at the first Galaverse event.

Passes will be sold on a per-day basis, with a limited quantity available for each day and rarity. While we will not yet reveal the prices for these tickets, the availability of each rarity is listed below.

Epic — 660 tickets (330 Saturday, 330 Sunday)
Legendary — 60 Tickets (30 Saturday, 30 Sunday)
Ancient —20 Tickets (10 Saturday, 10Sunday)

Each of these single day tickets also comes with a live stream access pass to Monday’s virtual event.

Node Dropped Tickets

As with every new NFT introduced into the Gala Games ecosystem, a portion of these tickets will be dropped to lucky node operators. We understand that every node operator who receives a dropped ticket may not be able to join us in Las Vegas this December, but we sincerely hope that you can. These tickets will not be valid for secondary market sales.

30 Rare Tickets will be dropped to node operators.
