It is absolutely a pleasure for us here at Gala Music to kick off our Emerging Artist Discovery Program with another partnership made possible by our friends at Death Row Records. Jane Handcock is dropping a sneak peak of her new album with two NFT tracks entirely exclusive to Gala Music.

Spotlight on Jane Handcock

While Jane Handcock may just now be getting widespread attention in the music business, she’s been a serious influence throughout the industry for years. As a gifted songwriter, Jane’s worked with Dr. Dre, Kelly Rowland, Big K.R.I.T and many other major names in the space.

Through her illustrious career collaborating and contributing, Jane has been refining her own breathtaking voice as a solo R&B artist. Soulful vocals combine with diverse hip-hop influences and pure songwriting mastery to craft her own unique, emotionally resonant sound.

With Death Row Records, Jane has worked on the cutting edge of what the new world of music can do and is ready to dive into the future. Many in our own community may immediately recognize her from her feature on Snoop’s “In the Air” from B.O.D.R. Creating a better music industry isn’t just about finding new ways to enjoy the artists you know though– it’s also about giving a voice that can be heard all over the world to talented, emerging musicians.

The First Drop

The first two singles from Jane’s latest album– “Mad Man’s World” and “The Price Went Up” will be released exclusively on Gala Music today, March 24th. These drops will be extremely limited releases, but will give our community a small taste of what Jane has planned for her next album.

While Jane’s not ready to let you in on exactly when the next tracks will be released, we’ll keep you updated when she’s ready to give up the secret.

Limited Availability

Both tracks will have a supply of 210 available for purchase each, with a small supply beyond that allocated to the Player Node Network and Gala Music Vault. This means only 420 total NFT tracks will be available during this sale.

Price

All NFTs of both “Mad Man’s World” and “The Price Went Up” will be priced at $250 each. Every track sold in this sale will be uncommon rarity.

As the first artist to feature in our Emerging Artist Discovery Program, Jane Handcock’s NFT tracks will enable listeners to earn L2E rewards in the Gala Music Ecosystem. Any NFT track on the Gala Music Ecosystem released by creators under the Emerging Artist Discovery Program will have the potential for listeners to earn rewards while streaming. Gala Music has empowered Snoop Dogg to purchase the Death Row Records label and catalog, which includes classic hits like Snoop Bounce. Thanks to the way that the Gala Music platform will elevate artists and fans, Death Row Records is now being launched as the world’s first web3 record label. Each music NFT will come complete with blockchain-backed ownership and future Listen-to-Earn potential to reward owners like never before.

Every music NFT in the Gala Music Ecosystem will have potential for Listen-to-Earn rewards on the future Gala Music platform, and Snoop Bounce is no exception. This is an excellent opportunity to own a piece of Death Row Records history and claim some early ownership in Gala’s new decentralized world of music.

Snoop Bounce — The Drop

We’re doing things a little differently with this drop in several ways.

1. Total surprise — This is a head start for those who are paying close attention, and just another way to reward early adopters who are most closely connected to our announcements and activities.
2. Lower Price — Even with an available supply limited to just 500, this NFT is coming in at a price of just $500. This price is incredibly low compared to Gala Games NFTs with similar supply.
3. New Pricing Structure — This drop is available in a descending price auction. Every 30 minutes, the price will be reduced by $20* until the total supply has sold. This means that if you wait, you may get a better deal, but you may also miss out if you’re not watching closely.

*Price reductions will stop at $60 in the event that any NFTs are remaining at that point.

Redemptions will begin during the week of March 14th, and remaining Stash Boxes will be sold at increasing price tiers.

We teamed up with a legend to launch Gala Music by dropping Snoop Dogg’s latest album, B.O.D.R., as an NFT collection and helping him bring back the iconic label, Death Row Records, which he now owns. This is the genesis of Listen-to-Earn, enabling fair distribution of music revenue and an eventual platform to help discover emerging artists. To kick things off with a bang, we released a special Stash Box NFT that contains a massive selection of goodies. The first round of Stash Boxes has sold, but they will soon be available again, at increasing prices each round.

By purchasing a Stash Box, early adopters of Gala Music are guaranteed one of the 18 tracks on Snoop’s new album, B.O.D.R. This is the showcase item that will be found in the Stash Box when it is opened.

The next Stash Boxes up for grabs will be available today, and boxes will be ready to crack open starting the week of March 14th.

Change of Plans

Rather than occasional ongoing NFT drops as originally discussed, we have decided on a huge opening redemption event. Owners will exchange their Stash Boxes for a pile of NFTs packed with value and utility, including additional bonus songs, special collectibles, gaming items and more.

What’s Inside?

We think you’ll be very pleased with everything that comes out of your Stash Box once you open it. Every owner will receive 5 track NFTs (detailed below), 1 of 25,000 awesome rewards of varying rarities, and more.

When Can I Open the Box?

Redemptions will begin sometime during the week of 3/14/22.

Here’s how it will work:

• Connect the wallet containing your Stash Box to the redemption page, once it is available.
• Use the interface provided to send your Stash Box to the redemption contract. You will be required to pay gas fees at this stage.
• Very shortly, you will receive the NFTs that were inside your Stash Box. Note that Gala items must be held in a Gala account to be usable on the Gala platforms.

Redemptions will be ongoing, allowing you the option to keep or trade your unredeemed Stash Box NFT for a time. We may close redemptions at some point in the future, so pay attention in Discord and for email announcements.

Death Row Records

DRR was founded in 1991 by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, The D.O.C. and Dick Griffey. The label found early success with rising artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, The Dogg Pound and Tupac. In spite of big wins throughout the nineties, a series of troubled times led to the label declaring bankruptcy in 2006, long after Snoop had left the company in 1998.

In February of 2022, Snoop Dogg acquired the brand, making history by purchasing the label that led to his initial success in the nineties. This is where a bright new future begins for Death Row Records, revived and revitalized under the leadership of one of its OG stars.

There is profound meaning in the way this particular label was brought back and turned into a pioneer of empowerment. How many artists can say they have bought the label that made it all happen? The iconic label that launched so many careers and defined a cultural moment in the 90s and 00s is now writing the next chapter of music history — on the blockchain.
