Today, we focus on one of those exceptional individuals. While others may be ideating and experimenting, he faithfully walks the beat every day. His unerring devotion to the Spider Tanks community serves as a bridge between the powers of production and Pilot. He ensures that the community is heard and that anyone he touches has a great day in the arena. Feedback isn’t always easy to hear, but he’s always there with an empathetic ear and the drive to propel change for the better.
We are, of course, referring to the irreplaceable Jeremy! Most of you have seen him around Discord as the captain of positivity and constructive communication in all things Spider Tanks. Today is all about the unparalleled professional many of you know as… Hendricksonn!
What is your role at Gala Games?
I’m the Community Manager for Spider Tanks. We have a really awesome and dedicated community of which I’m glad to be a part. I see it as my task to further empower our players and make sure their voices are heard. I want to provide a positive, welcoming place that everyone is able to participate in. On the battlefield however… It’s kill or get killed!
Don’t even get me started about fake Hendricksonns…
What’s your favorite part of the community?
The camaraderie and passion within the community is something I truly appreciate. It’s the shared love for competitive gaming that brings us together in the arena, where we can battle it out while also enjoying good conversation and forming bonds. The community inspires me to strive for excellence and give my best effort for their benefit.

I of course like playing Spider Tanks, but I also like playing MMORPGs and I have recently been playing Hogwarts Legacy quite a bit!

Aside from playing video games, I enjoy going to the cinema and following a variety of tv shows. I’m also studying Japanese in my spare time as I love the language and have quite some friends over there.
Proudest gaming moment ever?
Probably back in the day when my WoW guild was one of the first to defeat the Lich King on EU. Also got in the semi-finals of the Spider Tanks Mayhem West tournament last year with a great team!

That would be a Dutch classic… Boerenkool met worst en spek! Stroopwafels are also pretty nice, you should try them.
Translates to kale with sausage and bacon. I’m sold. This is now my favorite also.

There can be only one… the Sneltoets!! Holders of the Sneltoets will know what I’m talking about. It’s one of the signs of being a devoted Spider Tanks player!

We’re saying goodbye to TownCoin (TOWN), which can now be burned for GALA at a rate of 1.25 TOWN = 1 GALA.
The new Town Star economy is right around the corner, with a grand relaunch of Gala Games’ flagship game coming soon. Under the leadership of Farmville visionary game creator Mark Skaggs, the Town Star team has an exciting roadmap in store, along with a brand new economic model that will breathe new life into the beloved game while paving the way for new players to enjoy adventures around Town.
We’re saying goodbye forever to TownCoin (TOWN) in preparation for Town Star’s big launch. With the many brilliant changes coming to the game, we decided to remove the game-specific token in favor of a better reward model.
All holders of TOWN will have a significant time window during which they may swap their tokens with Gala Games at a fixed rate of 1.25 TOWN = 1 GALA.
The opportunity to burn has already begun, and TOWN holders will have at least 180 days to make the swap.
After the conclusion of the burn window, there will be no future utility for TOWN and it will be removed from all exchanges.
A Gala Games account will be required to swap. If you do not have an account, you can create one at Gala.com, or check out this support article for more information!
NOTE: Any TOWN in your Treasure Chest will first need to be minted before it can be swapped for GALA.
Gas Token
Now that Gala Games is able to publish games on its own blockchain (currently called Project GYRI), GALA is the “gas token” of transactions on that blockchain (like ETH on Ethereum). One of the core ways that Node operators will be rewarded in our ecosystem is with a distributed portion of the collected GALA gas fees.
Town Star Nodes
The burn-to-mint model described above will be employed across our entire Node Ecosystem, so Town Star Nodes will operate in a similar manner. When players make in-game Town Star purchases with GALA, Town Star active Node operators will receive a portion of the GALA spent on gas. This is only one of the benefits to operating a Town Star Node.

A couple of buddies and I ran a pug raid back in 2017. We took down Heroic Kil’jaeden on the second week with a raid full of randies. It was a long night, but it was a true testament that if you gather enough dedicated and capable murderhobos you can accomplish anything!

The baker, haha. Only I would not sport the snooty chef’s hat.
FYI, the baker doesn’t wear a hat… that’s hair. On you it looks a little like a goofy hat though Mark 😁
Which Exemplar best embodies you?
I always wanted to try goldsmithing and jewel work, something about meticulous and precise manual labor is very intriguing. Human Exemplar: The Goldsmith.
The Exemplar images are obscured in shadows and highlights, but if you look closely at the original images you can still find the inspiration behind them.
What’s the best super-obscure advice you have for the community?
If you are ever pitted against a disc priest and a dps in arena 2s. Jump the dps and pull a double switch once the defensives are popped. Good old bait and switch, nothing beats that.

The mobile gaming wizards at Ember Entertainment are now part of the Gala Games family, and they’re bringing their whole portfolio of awesome mobile games to our growing ecosystem.
Little Computers
PC and console gaming has come a long way in the past few decades. Many of the experts on the Gala Games team were direct contributors to those innovations, so they could probably tell you first hand in Discord.
Even the incredible growth of PC gaming doesn’t compare to the growth of its little bro. Mobile gaming has come a long, long way since GameBoy and Nokia Snake.
Phones have become the most comfortable and convenient entertainment device we have ever known, and they’re literally at our fingertips.
Most of us have seen with our own eyes how much time people spend waiting, and we’ve observed how enraptured they can become with the sophisticated-yet-simple rectangle in their hands.
Importance of Mobile Gaming
Gaming experiences on mobile devices have become sleeker, faster, and more convenient than PC and console gamers may even know. New systems have blurred the line between mobile and console, sharing the advantages of mobile gaming with console gamers.
Complex supply chains, rising materials costs and delicately balanced national economies make it less feasible each year to even own a personal computer or a laptop. Besides, any recent smartphone can do everything a computer can do, and it’s much easier to get your hands on. Additionally, thanks to wireless internet service providers, these devices can keep us connected even in remote locations.
Why is mobile gaming so important? Simply, because it is the way…
to onboard massive numbers of new users to Web3 gaming.
to build a sustainable ecosystem with rewarding games for all types of players.

A Bunch of New Games
As many of you already know, the team at Ember Entertainment created The Walking Dead Empires. What you may not know is that Ember has a successful portfolio of mobile games, and Gala Games’ acquisition of Ember means those mobile games will soon be Gala Games.
Plans are now in motion to bring in all of Ember Entertainment’s mobile games to Gala Games, incorporating Web3 reward economies and releasing them in rapid succession.
“If I asked the team to build 15 complete mobile games, that might take 9–12 months per game”

The first two games that will be onboarded into the Gala Games Ecosystem are Meow Match and Dragon Strike. Both are match 3 mobile games with unique, cross-genre mechanics and in-game items that will lend themselves perfectly to Web3.
Both of these games are already downloadable and fully playable in the app stores. Gala Games players are encouraged to start playing them early, because ownership and rewards mechanics are coming to these titles very soon.
Shortly after Benefactor’s original announcement on social media and the subsequent social media hype, more detailed roadmaps were revealed for each of these first 2 mobile titles from Ember Entertainment and Gala Games.
In Meow Match, all owned Cats will become NFT assets on our blockchain. Cross-functionality and reward utility for these cats will be established gradually throughout the Gala Games Ecosystem.
As you can see above, Meow Match will first be onboarded to the Gala Games platform within a matter of weeks, so hurry up and start collecting those cats!
In Dragon Strike, Gala Games account holders will receive a Scroll of Minting, allowing them to mint an in-game item on the blockchain. Events and rewards rollout are planned for Q2
Additional Scrolls of Minting will be purchasable in the Gala Games store for $100.
