Spider Tanks Showcase: Alpha Executioner

Spider Tanks Showcase: Alpha Executioner

This week we’re featuring the Hero Tank at the top of the food chain in the arena.

Greetings Pilots and destruction enthusiasts, and welcome back to the Spider Tanks Showcase! Today’s Hero Tank packs a serious punch but also has enough speed to not hang around for any consequences.

This showcase features a Tank that strikes as much fear into Pilots today as it did in the hearts of primitive humans of old Earth… Alpha Executioner! This fearsome avian monstrosity was the ultimate apex predator of our ancient past, and today humanity’s oldest nightmares have followed them into the arena.

Just like the great beasts of old, Alpha Executioner is vicious, relentless and driven by an insatiable hunger for destruction. This Tank was built for chaos and devastation… and it executes its purpose perfectly.

The Chicken is fast. It can still be outsprinted by tiny Bodies like Blink and Flea, but also packs a bit more Armor than those little guys. It can take a hit or two, but don’t expect to live long without some bobbing and weaving!

The Apex Predator: Chicken/Eggxecutioner

The Alpha Executioner Hero Tank is made up of two distinct Tank Parts: The Chicken Body and the Eggxecutioner Weapon. Like any Hero Tank, these two Parts can be used independently of each other, but create a synergistic combo together.

The Eggxecutioner fires fast moving rockets that barrel across the arena. They reach their target quickly after traveling a rather respectable range, and will explode upon reaching their full range or impacting an object or enemy Tank. This explosion itself deals splash damage, so well placed rockets can be tough for the other team to avoid and could be crippling when their team groups together

The range on the Executioner is above average, but the real advantage is that Tanks outside that range can still be hit by the explosion. The chicken in this clip uses the terminal range to its advantage on the approach, but then can also shoot against walls behind enemy Tanks. This makes the margin of error on a killing blow very generous.

Since Eggxecutioner’s ordinance deals damage in a large area, your opponents will have to put extra work into dodging your blasts. The Chicken Body’s raw speed further complicates this, and most prey simply won’t escape.

The Unrelenting Killer

The Alpha Executioner’s speed and firepower can easily keep an entire enemy team on the defensive. The Eggxecutioner holds three rockets and reloads quickly and continuously. This means that you can constantly lay down explosions against an enemy that’s getting tired from your fancy footwork.

While the Titan in this clip is getting wrecked trying to take over the enemy payload, you can see an Alpha Executioner firing constant explosions from the north side of the arena. Since the rockets explode at the end of their range, they deal huge damage to all the enemies escorting the payload.

In most game modes, choke points and bottlenecks will develop throughout the match. Whether this be the Control Point, a bridge between two squads in Team Deathmatch or the payload in Poultry Pusher, Chicken is able to use the Eggxecutioner to maneuver perfectly into position and deliver consistent explosions right into the heart of the enemy team.

In game modes like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed, the range at which Executioner can deal damage is a huge asset for a team. While the Tortoise has very long range, it just can’t maneuver fast enough to square off against the Chicken at distance.

For most Pilots, facing an Alpha Executioner will be a huge impediment to them playing out their normal strategies. Not only do the quick and successive explosions make it tough to coordinate as a team, but it’s incredibly unnerving when the predator pursuing you moves faster than you could ever hope to.

Here you can see a Chicken using its speed to its advantage. It’s able to keep pressure on the nearly destroyed enemies with nearly constant missiles, but thanks to its agility it’s able to dodge almost all incoming hits behind the larger Tank nearby.

Just as when this great beast stalked the plains and woodlands of the ancient Earth to prey on the very beginnings of humanity, fear itself can be a potent weapon. This hunter’s speed and firepower often cause the enemy to scramble and despair… which is right where Chicken wants them.

Mix Up Your Hunts

Both Chicken and Eggxecutioner are unique and useful Tank Parts on their own. There isn’t another Weapon quite like Executioner with its unique firing pattern, damage cadence and overall coverage. Chicken also offers a great alternative light Body that may be a little slower than the real glass cannons, but doesn’t compromise on Speed as much as medium Bodies.

Chicken doesn’t have as much Energy as a lot of the other fast Bodies, so you’ll want to rely on low cost Abilities wherever possible. Speed Booster can be a great choice, as a Chicken with this additional sprinting power can easily outrace a Blink or Flea. Since you’ll have more Armor than the other speedsters, an Ability like Repair Drone could also be a lot more helpful because you’re less likely to waste extra repair amounts.

Eggxecutioner itself offers a lot of really unique play styles to any size Body. While the fast play with Chicken pushes the pace of the game and makes opponents try to keep up with you, Eggxecutioner slapped onto a heavy Body could be leveraged for an opposite (but equally awesome!) effect.

Rocket power on a heavy, tough Tank could let you absolutely dominate any central objective on the map. For Poultry Pusher, King of the Hill, or Capture the Flag this could be a huge advantage– you’ll essentially be an immovable object holding an unstoppable force!

Things could get hairy with these builds though once things aren’t going your way. Without Chicken’s speed, you won’t be able to put pressure on enemies through pursuit the same way and will likely struggle to adapt to a changing battlefield.

The Hunt Is On

Fear the great Chicken… unless you’re driving it! The Chicken was the terror of our primordial past, come once again to have its fill in the arena. As either predator or prey, the best way to survive an encounter with the Alpha Executioner is to understand all the methodology behind how this magnificent mechanical creature hunts.

Unfortunately no Alpha Executioners are currently available in the Spider Tanks Store, but they can still be found on the official Spider Tanks OpenSea collection!

Next week we’ll be back with another Spider Tanks Showcase to feature a radically different Hero Tank. We’re going straight from this week’s avian nightmares to nightlife, smoke and pure bass with Snoop’s Bumpin’ Lowrider!

If you have any favorite strategies with this the Doggfather’s signature ride, let us know on Discord or in the comments below!

Spider Tanks: The Next Generation of Destruction

Spider Tanks: The Next Generation of Destruction

With launch behind us, we’re looking forward to the future in Spider Tanks! Today, we’ll talk about the next evolution of Tank Parts that will roll into the arena!

The Spider Tanks launch was a major milestone for both the community and team, but it’s far from the finish line. The game will continue to grow and evolve — offering fresh content, more explosive action and new exciting ways to play.

The battles we see in the arena today are fought with many veteran Tank Parts released during beta testing. In the future, however, these Generation 1 Tank Parts will no longer be available from the Spider Tanks store, and Generation 2 will soon begin.

The Garage of the Future

Many of the Tank Parts that you know and love may be available in Generation 2, but these Tanks will function a little differently than their current Generation 1 counterparts. Every Tank Part still plays a vital role in your strategy in the arena, but the premier Generation 1 Tanks offer some early access advantages that future Tank Parts won’t.

These items may still be available for secondary sales in the official OpenSea Spider Tanks collection, but Generation 1 Parts will no longer be sold in the Gala Games store.

If you own Generation 1 Tank Parts, nothing will happen to the items in your wallet. These Tanks will soon be prized relics of a bygone age in the arena, and collectors and competitors alike will be glad to have these in their Garage.

With our Tanksgiving sale still going on a little while longer, it’s a perfect chance for Pilots to get their hands on another Generation 1 Tank from the Spider Tanks store before it’s too late! Soon we’ll release more information about Generation 2 items coming to the store.

The Generation Gap

Generation 1 Tanks are the height of engineering ingenuity in the arena, and can potentially offer their Pilots a serious advantage. While Generation 2 Tanks will be able to rise to the power of Generation 1 Tanks, it may be a longer road for some to get there.

Generation 2 Tanks will all start at level 0, regardless of rarity. This means that higher rarity Tanks will no longer come fully equipped with perfect upgrades to a certain level based on the rarity of the specific Part. Generation 1 Tanks potentially have a serious head start on climbing the ranks.

Generation 2 Tank Parts will also have different Victory Point potential from each win than their early counterparts. We’ll release more information on these in the future, but overall the Victory Points these new Tank Parts earn each day will be lower than Generation 1 Tank Parts. Upgrade costs for these new Tank Parts will be adjusted accordingly.

Higher rarity Tanks can still achieve higher VPs per win than their more common counterparts with Generation 2. VP per win is still highly dependent on upgrade level, however, so Pilots who hit the arena in these Generation 2 Tanks may need to put more work into refining their machine to realize their full potential.

Onward to the Next Battle

Spider Tanks is just getting started, and there are tons of challenges waiting in the arena in the months and years ahead. We can hardly wait to share more with you about what we have planned for Generation 2 Tank Parts and the future of Spider Tanks, but suffice it to say that launch was the beginning rather than the end of great things coming to the arena!

There’s still a little time left in our Tanksgiving sale to grab some great Generation 1 Tanks. Don’t forget to check out the Spider Tanks store to see what great deals are going on right now!

We’re back with yet another spotlight on a dedicated Web3 professional working to bring you the future of entertainment

The decentralized world is forming around us, thanks in no small part to the innovative professionals who constantly push the bleeding edge of progress. Often these experts practice their craft in relative obscurity, though countless masses will eventually benefit from the fruits of their labor. As always, we’re here to help pull back the curtain on our Web3 workshop and let you peek inside to give you a chance to know the passionate people working tirelessly behind the scenes.

While Gala Games is US based, our team hails from all around the world. We believe different walks of life converge to bolster context, understanding and innovation. While many of us in this one, small part of the world begin to shiver from the winter’s cold, the professional we’re speaking with today is soaking up some sun and getting ready for summer fun. While we gather for some turkey with our families, he’s still hard at work making sure Gala Games is for each and every one of you.

Connection and communication are what bind us together and how we learn about each other to establish a better world for all. The man we spotlight today loves keeping the community in the loop and getting to know all of you who make Gala Games great.

You may have seen him gaming or in Discord as Tazcat… today, we’re spotlighting TAYLOR!

True facts.

What is your role at Gala Games?

I am the Diamond-Tongued Bard, commonly known as the Social Media Manager.

Why did you choose your Galaxian Title?

Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret… I didn’t. It was listed as the Galaxian Title when I applied for the job. I considered changing it, but I just felt as though that was the perfect title for what my role in Gala Games is all about — singing its praise to the broader masses!

Found in the encyclopedia under “Diamond-Tongued Bard”

Favorite book?

I would probably say a toss-up between Temple/Contest by Matthew Reilly or Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I love Reilly’s pacing in his writing and I feel like he captures action really well, and the subject matter of Temple and Contest just excites me. And for Ready Player One, need I say more?

Favorite part of the Gala Games community?

It’s strange — Gala Games is my first venture into the world of web3 and I can’t say I’ve seen anything like it. The community is amazing and it feels like even though I’ve never met some of these people in real life, I still feel connected to them, you know?

The other part I love about being a part of Gala Games is seeing people really engage with our accounts. Whether it’s medieval Mirandus or sassy Spider Tanks, my favorite part of my day is talking to you guys.

Turtle or Tortoise?

Gotta be tortoise. Which reminds me, I am in dire need of a Tortoise tank.

What are your favorite games?

I grew up mostly playing shooter games and have been really into Rocket League the past few years. But nowadays, I’m really getting into open-world RPGs, JRPGs and smaller indie titles. There’s so much artistry in the lesser-known games, and I’m loving exploring that. One of my recent favorites has been Omno — solo developer and a beautiful soundtrack.

Favorite music?

I’m a little eclectic, I’ll head bop/two-step/get absolutely down to pretty much anything. But I do have a soft spot for pop-punk. It was just a perfect high school genre. And yes, high school Taylor DID have a ridiculous fringe. It was… a choice, and I made it.

Awwww, baby Taylor is so cute!

Cool hobbies and interests?

Obviously other than gaming, I play football (gridiron and soccer).

I love to snowboard and I dabble in music production. Oh, and I used to DJ back in the day. I’ve hung up the headphones for now, but that was a fun time in life!

Ninja or Pirate?

The anime nerd in me has to go with ninja. Plus I used to do martial arts when I was younger.

Proudest gaming moment ever?

Back in my Call of Duty days, hitting a quadruple collateral sniper shot. None of my friends were in the game, and they all thought I was lying when I told them about it afterwards. Unfortunately recording gameplay wasn’t available to me back then. But my jaw instantly fell to the floor. Truly a “Did I just do that?” moment.

Favorite Food?

You can’t make me choose just one. I am a sucker for a good rack of ribs though. And despite the ongoing battle in the Discord, I love pizza AND sandwiches. Yeah, I said it. *mic drop*

So delicious. Also, as homegrown Australian as emus, dingoes and drop bears.

Which Spider Tanks Prop best represents you?

Rubber ducky. Why? That’s for me to know and you never to find out.

Which EoE Faction would you be aligned with?

It’s The Royals for me. 👑

Skydiving or spa day?

How about skydiving THEN spa day? That sounds like my kind of day.

This guy brought his own memes to an interview! How prepared do you think he is when he shows up to a party!? 🥳

Which Town Star character could you replace, if only given the opportunity?

I wouldn’t say replace, but that Nicole Tesla has got a look on her face like she knows something the rest of us don’t. And that weirds me out.

Which Exemplar best embodies you?

OOOH, good question. I think I’m going to go with the Longsongs. I would definitely say I thrive on music and rhythm. Whether that’s a good boogie or not-so-guiltily belting out some Adele, music is a big part of who I am!

What’s the best super-obscure advice you have for the community?

Expect the unexpected. ✨

Was that unexpected enough?

Many, many thanks to Taylor for sharing a window into his brilliant insanity with everyone! We hope that you enjoy getting to know the Gala Games team in these articles, and– especially this week– we want you to know that we are thankful for each and every member of the Gala community!

14 down, countless more to go! Stay tuned for yet another Galaxian Highlights coming at you in a few weeks. If you just can’t wait to learn more about the team, you can check out some recent Galaxian Highlights below!
