Gala Games is at it again, with more than $4 million in player prizes throughout the month.

Whether it’s spring for you in the northern hemisphere or fall in the south, it’s time for Gala’s favorite month. After the epic events of last year’s inaugural May Mayhem Town Star tournament, we couldn’t help dubbing May a month of celebration for Gala Games.

What are we celebrating? This is the fun part. We’re celebrating you, our incredible, caring and devoted community. We’re dipping into the plentiful coffers of the thriving business you have made possible and taking out more than $4 million to share directly with you for participating and competing throughout the month of May.

With your help and support, we have created the beginning of something magical: A Web3 entertainment company that gives out even more than it makes. In 2021, we distributed over $2 billion in value to members of our Ecosystem. Now as Gala continues to expand, so do the rewards, and in May, we honor those who made it all possible: The players.

What Rewards MAY Come?

What is May Mayhem? How can you, average Gala Games community member, take full advantage and give yourself the best possible chance of rewards during this month of festivities?

We’ll break it down for you very simply right here.

Play Town Star

Gala’s flagship game of town and city builders has been rewarding NFT owners with the game’s reward token (TOWN) for over seven months now. Soon, with the addition of borrowing and lending, even free players will have the opportunity to participate in earnings with Town Star. That update is on the horizon for later in the year, and for now the buzz is all about Town Star May Mayhem competition!

Each week of May, Town Star will host a new competition with a large number of GALA prizes on the line and available to all players. In total, $2 million will be given away to Town Star players for the May Mayhem tournaments.

The first weekly Town Star competition will run May 3–9, so get your Town Star NFT collection ready!

Refer New Players

The referral race is on, with special promotions in both Town Star and Spider Tanks for the entire month of May.

Your Referral Link can be found in the SOCIAL area of your Gala Games account, as pictured below.

Just copy the link, then share it with your friends or in your original content on the platform of your choice.

Town Star

Collect 10 Town Star referrals during May to get awarded a special Feed Bot NFT that will help you with one of the most important jobs in the game! You’ll see a counter of your progress in the game. Remember, referrals must play the game in order to count toward your reward!

Spider Tanks

Spider Tanks is running a weekly referral competition in May, with a prize pool in GALA that increases each week until the end of the month.

To qualify for each week’s distribution, you must refer 6 players and each of them must win at least one match. Then at the end of the week, the total prize pool is distributed evenly among those who qualified that week.

Week 1 — $100,000 in GALA — May 2–8

Week 2 — $115,000 in GALA — May 9–15

Week 3 — $135,000 in GALA — May 16–22

Week 4 — $150,000 in GALA — May 23–29

Play Spider Tanks

Each week, Spider Tanks will run a $250,000 prize pool tournament, with prizes paid out after the tournaments’ end in GALA.

Players will qualify for the Week 1 Spider Tanks tournament by having the highest numbers for played matches, regardless of win/loss rate. 50% of the prize pool will go to the top 2% of battlers, and the remaining 50% will go to 3–10%.

The winners of the Week 2 tournament will be determined by their highest personal score in a single match. Players must win the match for those points to qualify for one of four tiers each day. $50,000 in $GALA is up for grabs every day.

Don’t worry, we only used “May” for the sake of the pun. There most definitely will be more. As you may have already noticed, we like to move quickly at Gala Games, and a month is a long time.

Certain in-game NFT owners in various upcoming titles will be surprised with random drops of exclusive new NFTs throughout the month. You never know when holding Gala NFTs will earn you sudden and seemingly random rewards.

Look for additional playtests among other titles, and maybe even some additional GALA-on-the-line competitions. After all, we’re giving away $4 million in GALA. You’ll want as much as possible of that to become yours.

It’s time for the most rewarding month in the history of Gala Games… May Mayhem is back!

Considering how we’re always searching for ways to express our gratitude to the amazing Gala Games community, we decided to turn May into a time of celebration… A celebration of rewards for all of you. Now let’s get into the cryptic details that will leave you wanting more.

$4 Million in Prizes

Last year it was $1 million. This year it’s 4. Town Star players alone will have the opportunity to take home a portion of $2 million in GALA rewards. The other $2 million will be distributed to participants of several other games and initiatives throughout the month of May. Free NFTs

Got your attention with that one, didn’t we? We’re not talking about mere collectibles either, we’re talking about a bunch of Gala Games NFTs with Gala gaming utility in (you guessed it) Gala Games.

Tons of these NFTs will be distributed throughout the month of May at various times to Gala Games wallets who held certain specific Gala Games NFTs at the time of an upcoming snapshot.

SNAPSHOT — Friday, April 29th — 11:59pm PT

Free NFTs will be distributed throughout the month based on NFT collections at the time of the snapshot. To be eligible for free NFTs, certain NFTs must be held in either the Treasure Chest or Ethereum Inventory of a Gala Games account wallet.

Let’s say there’s a certain piece of NFT land that entitles owners (at the snapshot) to a special and exclusive new free NFT for May Mayhem, and let’s say you purchased that piece of land 5 minutes after the snapshot. Sorry! You needed it to be there during the snapshot to be eligible.

We’re not going to say for sure which projects and titles will distribute NFTs. Owners will have to wait and see for themselves, and it will be BIG. Now’s your chance to browse the secondary markets if you’ve been on the fence about that weapon, that building or that deed. You have until Friday night for your collection to count toward May Mayhem’s free NFTs.

It has once again come to our attention that despite it being totally amazing, many people are unaware of Gala Gold– the exclusive membership club of the Gala Games Ecosystem.

We’ve discussed the details of Gala Gold membership in the past, but since Gala Gold members are getting new perks all the time, we thought it was time to dive into how awesome Gala Gold truly is– just in time for an upcoming free NFT drop to all Gala Gold members.

The Town Star Express Depot drops into the treasure chest of anyone who joins the Gala Gold club. Not only is this depot faster at selling goods than that dusty old depot in your town, but it is also eligible for P2E rewards everyday if you complete the Dynamic Star Challenge.

NOTE — Other than the Express Depot (which is given to every Gold member), Gala Gold NFTs are distributed at one time to all holders of Gala Gold accounts. Those who upgrade to Gold after a drop are never eligible for that drop.

Superior Firepower

The latest Gold-exclusive NFT coming is a delightfully deadly implement of destruction for Superior– the upcoming roguelike shooter! This Plasma rifle skin was designed exclusively for Gala Gold members and will be dropped in the treasure chest of everyone with a membership by the end of the Superior’s Ronin Prime sale on April 14th.

Anyone with a Gala Gold account before the 14th will receive a Plasma Rifle skin with some serious bling. These NFTs will never be dropped retroactively, so make sure you go Gold before the sale ends!

Other NFT Drops

The membership benefits for Gala Gold aren’t one and done. Gala Gold is a lifetime membership, and all members will continue to get access to new, exclusive free items. Remember though that items are never distributed retroactively;

We make friends there, have good discussions, and actually make meaningful connections with like minded people.

As a smaller slice of the overall Gala Games community, the Gala Gold channel in discord is a good place to get to know the people who make Gala Games happen behind the scenes, and we do watch Gala Gold Suggestions closely so that we can listen to the concerns and ideas of our closest supporters.

Playtests and Access

We’ve got a lot going on here at Gala Games. With so many upcoming titles, it’s inevitable that we’re going to need a mob of enthusiastic gamers to help iron out issues at some point. Do you really think we’re going to go out and recruit alpha testers from outside the community when that time comes? Here’s the latest game submitted for acceptance to the Gala Founder’s Node Ecosystem

We’re always searching for new, original projects that could provide engaging and thrilling gameplay to the Gala Games community. We’re passionate about finding unique titles with teams devoted to making amazing gaming experiences, and that is why today we’re excited to present the latest game for your consideration– Superior!

Our community recently had the opportunity to test an early build of Superior, developed by Drifter. This roguelite is packed with third person shooter action in an intense superpowered survival-fest. In Superior, you’re pitted against hordes of superheroes gone bad, and you’ll have to fight fire with fire.

Throughout the game, you play through dynamically generated missions– each with special objectives, distinct enemies and unique environments– no two missions will ever be the same. As you complete missions, you’ll receive Juice from your fallen enemies. This is the source of their powers, and can be used to gain new superpowers or increase existing ones. Juice can have a wide range of effects. You can choose to increase your physical abilities like jump, melee and dash, or something a little more dramatic– like learning to fire forcefield sawblades from your hands.

Between your missions, you’ll head back to the bar to rest, recover, and stock up, but there will always be a next mission. In true roguelite tradition, upon death you’ll lose everything and start all over with a fresh run that will be entirely different from your previous adventure.

Superior will include an assortment of characters which are available for players to collect as NFTs. Each character has distinct bonuses to gameplay and play-to-earn potential, and rarer characters have additional skills and more earning potential.
