On the evening of 11/8/23 (PT), it was announced by DWF Labs in this blog that a new strategic partnership with Gala has begun.
DWF Labs is a well-known and worldwide digital asset market maker, as well as a multistage web3 investment firm. They are one of the world’s largest high-frequency cryptocurrency trading entities, trading spot and derivatives markets on over 60 top exchanges.
This new strategic partnership means that Gala is ready to undertake massive and rapid expansion of our L1 blockchain, GalaChain. DWF Labs is strategically positioned to help us reach new visionaries, developers and investors, and we are incredibly eager to bring the first fruits of this partnership to our user base.
Wider Vision for GalaChain

As Town Star moves forward into the transition to Common Ground World, the team is dedicated to fulfilling the promises made in the past. The Town Star Node Recognition Award Program
Understanding the value each node brings and to balance the scales for those who purchased at a higher price point, we are unveiling an award program that ensures node holders feel the weight of their initial commitment at the same time as we roll out the node NFTs for Town Star Nodes.
Here’s the essence of the program: We aim to make it so the number of nodes you possess will reflect as if your initial purchase price was $1,000 per node, which is the price for which we intend to sell more nodes in the future. Here are a couple of illustrations:
If you initially purchased a node at $4,000, you will be awarded 4 node NFTs when the node NFTs drop.
Similarly, if your initial node purchase was for $15,000, you will receive 15 node NFTs.
A Glimpse into the Future: Roadmap Highlights
But that’s not all! Our roadmap for Town Star Nodes is both social-centric and guild-oriented:
Guild-Centric Nodes: Town Star Nodes will not just be about passive operations. They will play a central role in guild dynamics, fostering interactions and community growth.
Boostable Nodes: Eventually, Town Star Nodes will also serve as the home for several of the “bot” characters from the early days of Town Star, including the Farmbot, the Tradebot, the Boombot, and others. Crane Bots will remain as in-game items only because they serve a critical role instantiated on the board.
Exclusive Access: As a node operator, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the much-anticipated CGW guild interface within the game. This means you will be the only ones able to list your NFTs in a guild library for members to use.
In-game Perks: Node operators are in for some in-game spoils. From special buffs to unique power drops, you can not only benefit yourself but also share these with your guild members.
Guild Competitions: To spice things up, we will soon be introducing guild competitions. And here’s the catch — the rewards from these competitions will be instrumental in upgrading your NFTs.
Introducing DIRT: A Streak-tracking Soft Token
One criticism that has been leveled is that people have felt they have been running their nodes for nothing. Going forward that will no longer be the case. We will implement a streak-based node operation mechanism similar to that used by the Gala Film Nodes to distribute a database-only tracking counter, dedicated exclusively to monitoring and recording the operational status of nodes. This notional tracking counter is called “DIRT”.
DIRT acts as a testament to a node’s reliability and efficiency. Every unit of DIRT signifies the node’s active contribution to the network, offering a transparent way to reward consistent and dependable node operators. In the future, this distribution of DIRT will be used to calculate other future distributions on-chain.
DIRT also serves as a motivation for node operators to maintain optimal uptime, knowing that their efforts and commitment are being tracked and valued. As we venture further into the decentralized future, tools like DIRT will be instrumental in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our networks.

On August 31, 2023, a derivative shareholder lawsuit was filed by Gala Games’ co-Founder and CEO, Eric Schiermeyer against Gala Games’ co-founder, Wright Thurston and True North United Investments, LLC. Subsequent thereto, a lawsuit was instituted by Wright Thurston against Eric Schiermeyer. A derivative shareholder lawsuit is a legal action filed by a shareholder on behalf of a corporation to address perceived wrongs committed against the corporation. These litigations, undoubtedly, may engender inquiries and apprehensions within our community, but we assure you that the Gala community has our unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability throughout this process.
In accordance with the principles of justice and due process, we must allow the legal process to unfold in its entirety. As an active case, we are legally restrained from making public comments or speculations concerning the ongoing litigation.

Rep Node License Price: $2500 Tier Supply: 5000
The license is a non-refundable and non-transferable item that will unlock your ability to run a Rep workload through the GalaChain Node infrastructure, once Rep workloads are released.
If you want to run a Node with limited computer skills, that is no problem at all. The GalaChain Node infrastructure makes it really easy to use background computing power on your home computer to run a workload. No expertise required.
Currently, all Node licenses are non-transferable. With the recent approval of a Founder’s Node proposal to allow Node licenses a path to tokenization, it is possible that in the future Rep Node operators will have the option to tokenize their Nodes into transferable NFTs.
Please note that while licenses will be issued soon after purchase, Rep Node workloads have not yet been implemented into the GalaChain Node infrastructure and rewards are not yet available.

Future Sales
As Rep grows through the coming months and years, the need for Node operators will continue to grow as well. While to some, 5000 licenses may seem a large number for an initial sale, we expect massive amounts of data to be hosted on Rep, with an empowering network of Nodes at its core.
The first 5000 Nodes are only the beginning, and more licenses will be sold accordingly in future supply tiers to keep up with this growth.
It is highly likely that future tranches of Rep Node licenses will a) come in shorter supply, b) have higher prices, or c) both.
The More You Node
Like most everything built on GalaChain, Nodes and their operators will act as the heart of the Rep ecosystem. Because Rep will use a dedicated network of its own Nodes, Rep’s Node operators will provide all the necessary computing resources.
A social media platform with Rep’s vision brought to life will host unimaginable quantities of data– Quantities that are in fact only possible thanks to the distributed power of a Node network that grows and scales with the number of Rep users and the size of their data.
Rep is an already-developed platform that needs a stable and sustainable blockchain solution. Thanks to the GalaChain infrastructure our team has worked so hard to build, we are able to create independent Node networks whose Nodes can host workloads for independent and partner projects.
