Gala Is Moving to Web3 Wallet Only Access
Email login is being retired. Set up your Web3 wallet now to keep accessing your existing Gala account.
Gala is moving to wallet-only access. If you currently sign in with an email and password, migrate your existing account to Web3 wallet access now using the Export to Web3 Wallet feature in GalaConnect.
You can use a supported wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet to continue managing the Gala account you already use, with your assets and game progress.
Email login remains available during the transition. We’ll announce the retirement timeline in a future update. Get started today so your wallet is ready before email login ends.
Your existing account, accessed through your wallet
Moving to Web3 access lets you continue managing the same Gala account through your wallet.
Your tokens, NFTs, Node licenses, allowances and game progress remain associated with your existing account. You do not need to start over or transfer your assets to a newly created account.
The process uses your existing wallet’s private key, which you export through GalaConnect and import into a supported Web3 wallet. Once imported, you can use that wallet to connect and manage your account.
Why make the move now?
Setting up your Web3 wallet now gives you time to become comfortable with wallet connections and signing requests before Gala transitions to Web3-only access.
Your wallet becomes the tool you use to authenticate and approve supported actions. This also means taking responsibility for protecting your private key and maintaining a secure backup.
How to get started
Sign in to GalaConnect, then navigate to Settings → Export to Web3 Wallet.
1. Choose your wallet
The migration page provides links to MetaMask and Trust Wallet. If you do not already have one installed, use those links to get started.
2. Export your private key
Enter your Transfer Code and select Export Private Key to decrypt and reveal your key.
If you need to create or update your Transfer Code, the page includes a link to that process.
3. Import your key into your Web3 wallet
Follow the instructions on the migration page for your chosen wallet. It includes steps for both MetaMask and Trust Wallet, along with links to their full guides.
Import the key exported from your existing Gala account so you can continue accessing that account.
4. Connect to GalaConnect
Once you have imported your key, use Connect Wallet on GalaConnect and select the imported account in your wallet. You can then continue managing your existing account through Web3 access.
Keep your private key secure
Anyone with your private key can control your wallet. Never share it with anyone.
Only enter the exported key into the import feature of the wallet you have chosen. Do not send it through email, support tickets, direct messages or screenshots.
Keep a secure backup before relying on your Web3 wallet for access, and review connection and signing requests carefully.
Prepare for Web3-only access
You can continue using email login for now. As Gala moves toward Web3-only access, adopting a wallet today will help you become familiar with the experience ahead of that transition.
