Back, Beats and BEYOND (with Bux)

With so much happening, and of course a lot more planned. I wanted to take a moment to share some key thoughts, news and updates across a few topical items that impact not just the platform, but of course all of us connected to it.

With much ground to cover, thought it sensible to share these updates from me (perhaps every 3 months, maybe more if/as you would like), using a logic that will stay constant, even as news and key areas to cover/debate change and progress.

In short — I’ve tried to make this easy to navigate.

BACK

As those who were tracking Gala Music know, the platform launch date was pushed back a couple of times, from Autumn 2022, to January 2023 — launching as a ‘tech rollout’ on March 28, 2023–410 days after we made our intention to enter the music space known.

For those who aren’t aware of the proposition (the what, why and how), you can dive into ‘the source of truth’ to learn more. This document is ‘living’ and as such, it will be shortly updated with any/all relevant information from this post.

So March then … Well we saw more than 10,000 nodes activate and welcomed 19.4k new visitors to the platform. While this is of course an early version of the ecosystem and only a slice of what it will do — there were some pretty neat tech pieces that went live during deployment:

  • Decentralized Track Hosting
  • Community Track/Node Player Pairing
  • Daily Distribution Rewards

As with all new things, there is always a lot to learn and some ‘kinks’ to work through, track pairing (since updated) and player node owner rewards were both hot topics at release and in the case of nodes, still very much a big theme of conversations. You can keep up with these in our discord, but for those who like a more considered communication flow we will be introducing longform updates to let the community know about key decisions and changes ahead of releases and/or key activations.

Ahead of our launch in March, BT Orb Holders were dropped tracks with ‘listen-enabled reward’ utility in the Gala Music ecosystem. Jane Hancock fans expecting their digital collectibles (non-earning) were still waiting (…) and the promised October London tracks, being sent to player node owners and buyers of the artist, were placed on hold. The reason for this is that an artist holding too much of the content (%) on platform would create an imbalance across a number of platform features. We will of course revisit and make sure we’re aligned with October London, as we do with all Gala Music artists, to ensure we can strike when the time is right (note: this doesn’t impact a track release if that’s something he and the community are keen on). Stash box holders and gold chain owners — in March plans progressed with Snoop Dogg concerning a unique (free) release that will forever remain exclusive to holders. Due to previous announcements and restrictions around this, a separate communication will be shared in May to make clear who will receive the item(s) and why.

BEATS

We are now well into the technical roll-out, exactly a month at the time of writing. Some interesting stats for you, if you’re in the Gala Music Discord you would have seen these already!

  • There are now over 66,000 music tracks being hosted on player nodes.
  • April saw the platform serve over 1 million (decentralised) listens
  • We also saw a 141% increase in visitors to the site (47k)
  • A further 3.6K nodes came online (10,033 came online in March)
  • More than 1.6k community members are now showing their support by putting tokens in Gala Music artist’s pools

It would be remiss of me to highlight only the wins, we of course have had some bumps. A few delays to daily minting (although note all BEAMS have been distributed without loss to those qualifying) and a specific error around an overmint, which the team will be addressing in the coming weeks to ensure balance is restored — this will not be through the distribution of ‘additional’ tokens.

For those not following in our Discord, during this early test phase, we are minting 250k BEAMS each day for distribution. This distribution only goes to those who own tracks and/or player nodes, who are also meeting the required 20 hours ‘up time’. BEAMS are calculated based on listens — unique listens have a higher weighting than repeat listens. No BEAMS are allocated to Gala Music for operations/costs, and none are allocated or distributed to artists at this time.

Along with much other background work, April also saw us launch the leaderboard, a first step in what will be a platform that encourages people to sign in and play …

Another aspect we rolled out this month was tiers, thought this was a good opportunity to share some more information with you all.

There are 5 tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. These tiers will now have fixed track amounts going forwards. While the quantity will now be set across tiers, artists will have a price range that they’re able to operate within, based on their needs and what they believe their fan base(s) will be open to.

To determine if an artist is able to rise to the next tier, Gala Music have implemented a points system, this includes items such as:

  • Sold Out Tracks
  • 70% sell outs
  • Held BEAMS
  • Track Performance
  • All Access Fulfillments
  • Exclusive Track(s)
  • Exclusivity Window
  • DSP Streams

An artist, group and/or band can of course join Gala Music above the Bronze Tier. Their entry level is based on external performance indicators, as well as their agreement with Gala Music (such as exclusivity, engagement and their contribution/content for The All Access Store).

Criteria becomes more stringent as an artist rises tiers, and artists may only jump Tiers once per every 90 day period, no matter their performance on or off the Gala Music platform.

When an Artist rises to the next Tier, the rewards rate for BEAMS held in their Pool decreases by 2%.

However, for fans that have already held BEAMS in their pool, the previous rate is honored. This rewards early supporters for holding BEAMS against the artists they believe will successfully grow with Gala Music.

While we’re here a little note on Access Pools.

Access Pools allow you to support your favorite artists and earn points for unique experiences, merchandise, items and music. Each month, the top artist in each tier with the most BEAMS held unlocks marketing and promotional benefits from Gala Music.

The points a supporter earns from holding BEAMS in an Access Pool can be spent in the All Access Store to unlock exclusive experiences, content and items. While points are universal, you will receive a discount on content from artists whose pool you hold BEAMS in.

Beyond

The All Access Store. As many of you know, this was intended to be an April launch, however, due to some recent complexities surrounding redemption, we have taken the decision to delay its rollout until later in May, in order to deploy our best version of V1.

The All Access Store is not just an important feature for BEAM (and of course soon token) holders, it is also an essential part to our UA strategy which, with our first month now behind us, is top of my mind.

Along with the All Access Store, May will welcome the first notable partnership of many. Attendance at VeeCon (May 18–20), will bring with it a huge moment for 18 emerging artists — 3 of which will take to the main stage to perform.

The activations before, during and after, will be focused on the VeeCon community (not just their conference attendees), to increase sign-ups to the platform — and drive those all important listens.

Going forwards, I will share key stats on the activities happening on and around the platform, so that you can see the impact of campaigns, releases, content, features, partnerships and of course that all important token launch.

I hope this has been useful to you. Please know your support and input is of great importance, not just to the team and I, but to all those who we believe will benefit and of course enjoy all that Gala Music will bring to life.

Here’s to a better way for us to play — together!

Champions Arena Returns

Champions Arena Returns

A three-week playtest of Champions Arena starts soon! Don’t miss this chance to hop into the arena!

The arena is once again open. Will you rise to the challenge or fall in pursuit of glory?

Champions Arena is back! Starting Thursday, April 27th you can return to the fray. Level your Champions, refine your tactics and dominate your opponents!

Upon your return to the arena, you’ll see everything you loved about Champions Arena during our November playtest and so much more. The developers at OneUniverse have been hard at work over the past few months, and can’t wait to hear the community’s feedback on this new demo!

The Coming Battle

This playtest will go live at 6pm PT on April 27th and continue through 6pm PT on May 17th.

As with the last playtest, players can play on either PC or mobile! Simply go to the Champions’ Arena Store once the playtest is live to download the PC game through the launcher or the APK /iOS to install the app to an Android/iOS device.

For this playtest, players will be able to login with their Gala Games accounts. This will enable us to track daily logins and eventually deliver rewards to playtesters when the game is live. (More on this below!!!)

Please note that we’ll be unable to track the progress of any players that login without connecting their Gala Games account. Those that choose to play as a guest will unfortunately not be able to unlock any extra rewards to be delivered after the game goes live.

New Features

Players loved their time in the arena last year, but now there’s even more ways to play and test your Champions’ mettle.

An all new Challenge Mode has been added! The Tower of Trials presents serious dangers for your Champions and only the best climb its treacherous levels. Victorious Champions who persist through the hardships of The Tower, however, may find useful equipment within.

To make it a bit easier to round out your team of Champions, a premium summoning option has now been added. While the previous option remains unchanged, this new premium summon only results in Champions, with no chance of delivering a stone to the player.

As your Champions test themselves in the arena, your Estate serves as their home base. With this new playtest, you can manage your own Estate or join up with a friend on theirs.

How do you get your hands on an Estate? We’ll be announcing the details of Champions Arena’s first sale early next week, which also offers players a chance to try their hand at running an Estate during this playtest. Those with Estates can have others join and explore all the benefits they can offer.

Gem Rewards

This will be a standalone playtest, and all data and items will be reset after its conclusion.

Players will receive a daily reward of premium currency so that they can experience all of Champions Arena. This reward will be delivered daily through in-game mail:

  • 10,000 Gems
  • 20 Essence

While all the loot and progress you are able to achieve during this playtest may be reset before launch, you’ll still have a shot at real rewards for you to use at launch. There’s three different ways players can get a pile of Gems reserved for their account when Champion’s Arena goes live.

Note: Gems are a premium currency within Champions Arena associated with your Gala Games account, not a tokenized item delivered to your wallet. Any of the following rewards will be delivered to your account after the official launch.

Arena Rank — Overall Arena ranking at the end of the test period

  • Rank 1–3: $300 of Gems
  • Rank 4–6: $250 of Gems
  • Rank 7–10: $200 of Gems
  • Rank 11–20: $150 of Gems
  • Rank 21–30: $100 of Gems
  • Rank 31–50: $50 of Gems

Daily login Rewards — Players receive all reward tiers they are eligible for

  • 3 or more Days: $10 of Gems
  • 5 or more Days: $20 of Gems
  • 7 or more Days: $30 of Gems
  • 10 or more Days: $60 of Gems
  • 14 or more Days: $80 of Gems

Campaign Completion — Players receive all reward tiers they are eligible for

  • Clear Chapter 1: $5 of Gems
  • Clear Chapter 2: $10 of Gems
  • Clear Chapter 3: $15 of Gems
  • Clear Chapter 4: $25 of Gems
  • Clear Chapter 5: $45 of Gems

Fixes and Improvements

We’ve heard the feedback from the last playtest, and made tons of small improvements based on that and our internal testing. Champions have been widely rebalanced across the board in both power and Rank, giving you new tactics and combos to explore.

The Mayhem raid has been rebalanced so that solo play is possible. This will let lower level players that may not have a team engage with Mayhem much easier.

The summoning fee has been altered to charge a flat cost now. Gems can now be used to increase the size of your Inventory Bag, add Mayhem Slots or reduce the time you spend on Expeditions.

Players will notice tons of other small improvements over their previous experience in November, but we won’t spoil all the surprise!

The Arena Awaits

There’s tons of new content to explore and glory to be won in this new playtest of Champions Arena. Don’t miss out on this chance to hop into the game.

Mark your calendars, because this playtest only lasts three weeks. What victories can you achieve in that time? Are your Champions destined for greatness?

Chapter 5: Old Greytooth

Chapter 5: Old Greytooth

While Gontro and Rom’s meeting seemed pure chance, it was more than fate that brought them together that day outside the Coliseum.

The history of Tolkheim is inseparable from the chronicles of great sorcery and intrepid adventurers. Unlike our past in the Age of Conflict, however, heroes and sorcerors no longer squander resources seeking greater ways to destroy each other in combat. Wars of conquest seldom rage through our lands. This is the Age of Chance, and we solve our disputes great and small through more civilized means.

Our story begins– or rather began– with an unlikely adventurer named Rom and a drunken cynic named Gontro (who STILL owes me more than a few shields). That, however, is only half of what happened. In truth, the story began two days earlier– a day when Gontro smelled particularly of stale whiskey and false bravado.

It was about a three day ride north of Shallowharbor…

“What in tha hells do ya think you doing!?” A scattershot of potatoes accompanied the screams coming from the door to the room. A distinctively lopsided one smacked Gontro right between the eyes, knocking him onto his rear. He was naked for all but his shorts, the pale scars all over his green body seeming to shimmer after so rarely seeing the sun. Over his shoulder he hastily slung a sack, cramming clothes into it as he dodged the root vegetables.

“Sorry Sorry!” He shouted, getting to his feet while shielding his face with his hands. “I was riding. I was tired. There was an empty bed in an empty room.”

“This. Is. MA. HOUSE!” the woman screamed, bursting into the bedroom with an iron frying pan in one hand and a potato in the other.

“I know– Well, I didn’t know.” He struggled to his feet, still spitting out pieces of raw potato. “I’d been ridin all day and I was tired and drunk. It was just a bed.”

“You think you can just climb inta people’s windows!? Sleep in tha beds?” She chucked the potato just as his hands lowered, nailing his unshielded face again. She darted back inside the door for a moment, quickly returning with no frying pan. Instead she held a smooth stick as tall as her. The end was covered in bright red runes and glowed dimly.

“Woah woah, what are you doing with that? I just saw a bed. It was empty. I thought this was an inn.” He backed away from the woman, clearly terrified. He continued in an apologetic tone, doing his best to muster some charm. “It really was a lovely bed by the way. Best inn I’ve ever slept in. How much ya charge?”

“We use this to fire tha clay,” the woman said dryly. “It’d probably treat you liken clay too.”

“Oh my dear lady, can’t we settle this with an honorable game?” Still backing up. Faster now.

“I know ya Gontro Greytooth!” The woman shouted, gesturing as if stabbing him from a distance with the staff. “You just want to beat me in Legends Reborn and taken whatever ya like. This is ma land! Ma house! Shoo!”

A massive fireball suddenly sprung from the end of the staff towards Gontro. He turned tail and ran out the front door, darting sharply to the right to dodge. The fireball nearly singed his sparse gray hair on the way by, but then it slowed and wheeled… turning around to race back towards him!

Normal people across Tolkheim frequently have potentially dangerous magical artifacts on hand. In the Age of Chance, even a brigand like Gontro would never expect someone to engage him in direct aggression and violence!

“Oh, that’s cheating.” Gontro muttered to himself, now frantically digging into his bag while running full speed and mostly naked. He lost three earrings and one tunic while he was digging about, but finally he discovered what he was looking for. His hand emerged from the bag carrying a delicate scroll bound with gold string. He fumbled a great deal with the knot– so much that he had to stop running as his massive orc hands desperately tried to untie the flimsy gold.

He turned to see the coming inferno. Just seconds now. He bit the gold ribbon with his massive teeth, ripping the scroll open. “Take me to Kolton!” he yelled. He disappeared a wisp wink before the fireball roared past where he had just been.

Now, one who has never fast traveled before can’t properly respect the amount of pain and terror that happen in the few seconds while your body has no substance on this plane, but it’s rather similar to being shot with a large fireball. You can understand then that when Gontro reappeared in a muddy ditch about two days’ ride to the southwest, he continued howling in agony as if on fire. After a few moments, he realized he had in fact not been incinerated and his screams melted into laughter.

Several hours later… and after a well needed trip to the Kolton tavern, Gontro felt like a new orc. The scroll wasn’t the most pleasant way to travel, but at least it got him where he was going. He stopped in front of an old building, out of place among the well kept thatched roofs around. It seemed as if it would collapse at any moment. Somehow, the front door was entirely covered in cobwebs, even though the sign read ‘Open.’ A rusted and crooked sign above the door identified the shop as ‘Noggin’s Portents and Curiosities’.

Gontro had been here many times before, and he knew NPC had always looked like a hole in the ground. He confidently pushed through the cobwebs to open the door.

He strode into the dust covered shop. The door seemed to let the first light in years into the room. Glass cases full of oddities were scattered about the room. Gontro leaned towards one of the curios… unable to see through it due to filth built up on it. He pulled his glove off his hand and drew a quick illustration too scandalous to speak of here.

“Stop sullying my shop with your depravities you green son of a bugbear.” said a small figure at the front counter– almost entirely imperceptible in his tattered robes amongst the dust and grime. He stood on a stool behind the counter and still only rose up to Gontro’s shoulder.

“Noggin!” Gontro shouted with a suspiciously exaggerated smile coming across his face, rushing towards the speaker with outstretched arms. “It’s been too long! How’s the family?” The orc embraced Noggin in his massive arms and picked him up off his stool, twirling him.

“Put me down! Put me down this instant!” The Orc laughed as he plopped Noggin irreverently on the floor. The gnome straightened his robe, annoyed. “This is why gnomes don’t associate with orcs. It’s not been too long– better part of a decade is not long enough to be without you and the trouble you always bring, I warrant.”

“Oh c’mon Noggin. It’s not like that this time. Totally worth your while.” Gontro dropped to one knee to meet the gnome’s eyes. “I need new creatures– just like the old days. You forge me some tokens, we both get rich and famous.”

“This,” the gnome gestured around the shop as he walked back around the counter to his stool, “is not the old days. I could honestly use the work. My son has partially taken over and he’s giving NPC a slow death. Likes it dark and dreary in here, hangs with a weird crowd. Calls himself a ‘rogue’. Wife says it’s just a phase, but 67 years is nearly a full grown gnome!”

As the gnome grew more comfortable, Gontro leaned in closer over the counter. “Remember the Onyx Dragon? From Harry’s old tokens?”

“Hard to forget that one. Never been another like Harry’s Onyx Dragon.” The gnome nodded in satisfaction of the memory of his work.

“I need one. I know it’s been awhile… you can make another one, right?” Gontro gripped the edge of the counter in anticipation, his green knuckles turning white against the display glass.

“I’m an old gnome Gontro. I don’t remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, let alone how to recraft the finest beast I ever knew.” The gnome glanced down at Gontro’s hand. “And pray tell why you so desperately need one of Harry’s signature creatures? You could get any number of Creatures in any city along your travels.”

Gontro narrowed his eyes at his old friend, then sighed, backing away slightly from the counter. “You’re right. It’s not the old days Noggin. I can’t compete like I used to. Why do you think I keep my SCL invitation through Shallowharbor? I couldn’t hold a title anywhere but some backwater burg like that.”

He slumped against a display cabinet nearby. “I need some new tricks. I’m just using old ones in sillier ways. Becoming a has been in front of my own eyes. That dragon would make a statement. Wow people again.”

“Well, I still think it’s stupid that you would need Harry’s tricks,” the gnome said, standing and walking across the room to a desk in the corner, “but I hate to see a big, proud moron like you so sad, so yes, I’ll help… for an appropriate price.”

Several hours of drunken sleep later, Gontro awoke where he laid on the grass in the forging yard with a poke from Noggin’s walking stick. “Get up ya bag of grass. You need to fill in some info here”

As the orc lazily rose off the ground, the gnome was already busy at his forge. 10 stone disks lay ready, and a complex array of symbols were drawn on several pieces of parchment that were sloppily spread across the surface of the forge.

While surely made for someone of his stature, Noggin still looked comically small, double checking his work at the great stone circle atop the device. Gontro could smell the fumes from the mana combustion engine inside the pedestal starting to charge its magic.

Token forges can be a wide variety of shapes and sizes depending on the needs (and wealth) of the tokensmith. Forges can imbue many different magical items, but many smiths favor tokens, cards, staves, or some other common item.

“I still have the template,” Gnoggin said without so much as a glance up from his work, “but I crafted it using a Permanent Image Containment lens that Harry had of the real deal. Unless you have a PIC this time, you’re going to need to help me.”

“You’re the smith,” whined Gontro as he stretched and yawned. “How am I supposed to help

“Because I’m older than dirt, and you’re lucky I remember your name,” the gnome snapped. “Now get over here and describe the thing while I engrave.”

The gnome pulled out the first stone and the surface of the forge spun as red lightning crackled around it. He placed it in the groove in the center of the spinning circular table and took two hooked implements from the nearby table, turning them towards the now whirling stone. “Go, now! How big was it?”

“It was at least the size of several small houses. Probably about as tall as the New Sanctuary Arena, and two… no three times as wide.”

“That… doesn’t sound right. Are your sure?” The gnome raised an eyebrow.

“Oh yeah, you’re right. Probably as big as four of those arenas. And its tail spikes were larger than jousting lances.”

Noggin took a break from engraving briefly and held up a sheet of parchment, narrowing his eyes. “Like that?”

“No, no! The spines jutted out further… curved at the end like Sylaxian swords. And the teeth need to be bigger.”

“Yes, I think that’s it. I remember it clearly now.” He went back to his work at the forge and his hands moved in a flash, etching as the disc spun so quickly Gontro couldn’t even see it. “Alright. That oughta to do it.”

He handed the token to Gontro. He held it up in the light and admired it before putting it down and preparing to summon. “Noggin, the years certainly haven’t diminished the quality of your work.” The token began to flash purple, then in a poof of smoke, the Creature came.

At first Gontro put his hands on his hips, beaming at his new Onyx Dragon coming to life on the test table, but then the creature opened its jaws to reveal a mouth with dreadfully terrifying teeth… but not quite in the way the orc had hoped. Its teeth curved and split into multi pronged jagged points. Terrible to behold, but much more terrible to have in your mouth! It roared and backpedaled, seemingly trying to jump away in fear of the mass of daggers in its mouth.

The spines that had dotted its tail and back began growing larger as it backed up. It turned around as if confused, before its head abruptly transformed into a wing. Its left wing let out a poof of smoke, suddenly becoming an extra leg. Then the… thing stumbled. And down it came. As it hit the ground, it made the sound of shattering glass, then the pieces of dragon started to drip away. Just like wax too close to the fire. First just a few drips, then mercifully only a puddle in the workyard.

After a few minutes of silence with both the gnome and orc standing around the sticky spot where the token had been, Noggin finally broke the silence as he went to clean up his workstation. “Well. That sure was something.”

“Something?” Gontro let out an annoyed grunt. “That wasn’t my Onyx Dragon.”

“Well, obviously we don’t remember it as well as we thought.” Noggin reached into his pocket to fetch a pipe. “I may be in my 170s, but you’re the old man here Gontro.”

“So what do we do now? Try again?” Gontro fell to his haunches in the dirt.

“Ha. Do you want to take your chances on that again?” Noggin shook his head somberly. “I imbue a token by making a magical facsimile of a real magical creature. This one clearly wasn’t close enough to the real thing… not by a longshot. I told you, Harry had a PIC last time. Without a magical imprint from the creature itself, I’m just a gnome making a forgery.”

“So we’re just out of luck entirely?” Gontro growled. Noggin couldn’t decide if it was defeat or frustration.

Noggin shrugged and began to walk back into his shop. “Well, unless you want to go hunt an Onyx Dragon or you have Harry’s original token… yep.”

“…Harry’s token” Gontro said with a smile, standing up. “Noggin, either you’re a genius or I’m an idiot-”

“Both” Interjected Noggin as he puffed on his briar.

“Anyway, I know right where Harry’s token is. Conveniently, I got a match there in a few days.” He stood up and dusted himself off, his brash confidence renewed. “I’m riding out for Shallowharbor. I’ll be back with the token by week’s end.”

Patch 1.2.0 Is Live!

Patch 1.2.0 Is Live!

Daily and Weekly Missions, more control for Pilots and Captains, and much more enter the arena in this latest Spider Tanks update.

The arena has been updated, and we’re excited for everyone to see what’s awaiting them!

There’s tons of new features and fixes in this latest build. Not only has the arena been streamlined with the latest tech and fixes, but you could say that it’s now officially ready for some serious MAYhem.

Patch 1.2 has already been deployed and is live right now. This patch hunts down a few bugs and improves gameplay like always, but also comes with some exciting new content that we know many players have been eagerly waiting to see!

New Features

In this build, Pilots and Captains alike can engage with long-awaited Custom Contracts for their Drop Pods. Using this, a Captain can set up another player as the designated Pilot for the Tank that has been placed in their Drop Pod. They can also set a custom VP share from battles that’s acceptable to both the industrious Captain and the hard-working Pilot.

Captains will also be able to set a minimum Elo for their Tanks in Drop Pods. While setting this high will ensure that only more accomplished Pilots with higher Elo multipliers drive your Tanks, too high may result in your Tank Parts getting into less matches every day. Decide carefully what your standards will be.

The Pilot Program isn’t the only update in this patch. Players will now find that Daily Missions and Weekly Missions are available in-game. Complete these specialized tasks and take some extra Components home to your Garage.

These Missions assign you a wide variety of tasks to complete within the designated time frame. Each Mission shows you its potential reward as some extra inspiration to skitter across the finish line.

You’ll also now receive increasing Daily Login Rewards each day you continue to come back to the arena for another brawl. Practice doesn’t only perfect your skills anymore, it could also help improve your Tanks over time.

General Improvements and Bug Fixes

Several small improvements have been made throughout the game. A Discord button now shows on the main menu so that players can easily find the Spider Tanks Discord community. Once players find the community, they can make use of a newly improved Discord Rich Presence which now shows more info while you’re playing Spider Tanks.

Some players have noticed there’s not always a lot of time during the matchup screen, and users that connect slowly may not get a chance to see their opponents… or not have much time to choose Abilities. We’ve added some additional time to the waiting and Ability selection screens to make sure that everyone has a chance to fully prepare for battle.

Numerous small fixes have been made throughout the game to improve players’ experiences. Most of these will be hardly noticeable to most players independently, but overall this moves us towards a more bug-free Spider Tanks arena… except for Fleas of course!

Some larger highlights that players may be interested in are:

  • Fixed a rare issue that caused teams to use the wrong colors.
  • Fixed chosen Abilities not being used when reconnecting to a match.
  • Fixed Abilities appearing in wrong positions on Ability Picking screen.
  • Fixed several Ability picking screen issues in Exhibition.
  • Fixed assisted self-kills sometimes not counting.
  • Fixed some Ability effects spawning in weird places.
  • Fixed turrets sometimes being invisible after joining a game in progress.
  • Fixed land management vault fill percentage not being displayed correctly.

We’re very excited to see these changes implemented. These fixes are already live now!

Can You Feel the Mayhem?

This close to May, there’s definitely nothing that we’re dropping hints about here… but we have a feeling the next few weeks are going to be absolute MAYHEM in Spider Tanks.

With this huge quality of life boost for both Pilots and Captains and an entirely new Mission system, we’re sure that Spider Tanks is ready for whatever seasonal festivities may happen around here this time of year.

We may have already said too much. No time to talk more about upcoming events now… you’ll just have to stay in suspense a little while longer.

We’ve got work to do in the arena anyway. We’ll see you in there!
