The Primarchs of the Crimson Sun

Our community at Gala Games is a beautiful thing, and a lot of people work very hard to support and foster a positive culture and environment throughout every life that Gala Games touches. The Primarchs of the Crimson Sun are the front line customer service professionals who are there day in and day out to make sure the needs of the community are met.

In this installment, we are taking some time to get to know Elijah– better known as Light GG among the community. While you may not interact with him as often as some of the other Primarchs, his hand helps keep both the community and everything under its glorious hood running smoothly, even when unseen. He’s commonly the go-to for Founder’s Node issues on the Gala Games Discord, but is always there for whatever the community needs.

What do you do at Gala Games?

I am a Customer Support Lead. I enjoy working with my co-leads and my awesome team members to help resolve issues for the community. I help train and mentor people, manage the apps utilized by the team, and help with what needs to be done to provide support to the company.

What previous experience brought you to Gala Games?

Before Gala Games, I worked in the IT industry for small to medium businesses and large corporations. My previous role was a Systems Engineer that works with non for profit organizations. I helped with daily IT operations, provided consulting, and managed systems and network infrastructure.

I have been in the crypto space for some years and experienced the entire rollercoaster for better and worse. This combined experience allowed me to transition well into Gala Games and it’s been a pleasure ever since.

Why did you pick your Galaxian D&D title?

I’ve picked Light Mage because I enjoy supporting people to excel in their roles. The sense of fulfillment in seeing people succeed is such a satisfying feeling. It’s also the role I commonly pick when playing games because magic and wizardry are so cool.

What are your favorite games?

I grew up playing video games as I was in computer shops for the majority of my childhood. I heavily played GoldenEye007, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Tenchu Stealth Assassins, Tekken, Counter Strike, DotA, League of Legends, and Rust.

My play to earn experience started with DotA in Warcraft III though as when I was in grade 6, I started joining tournaments and events where people pooled money and whomever team wins gets it all. I’ve competed in the Bicol region within the Philippines with friends and had such a wonderful time. Ah, this brings back great memories.

One of my favorite games is League of Legends. I started playing it back in 2009 and managed to reach Diamond in 2014 playing Jungle, ADC, and Mid. The Nidalee One-shot build is one of my favorites because Tons of Damage!

Lately, I’ve been playing Spider Tanks, Risks of Rain 2 and trying to learn how to play Minecraft.

Favorite music?

In terms of music, I enjoy listening to a wide range of genres depending on the mood. I listen to pop, rock, punk rock, metal, heavy metal, kpop, and EDM.

After watching the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, I played my Queen playlist on repeat for a month which my wife surely appreciated.

Favorite foods?

Picking a favorite food is tough. I like fried chicken and it’s probably why I used to work for KFC Restaurant. In all seriousness, I love fried chicken, especially Korean Fried Chicken and Jollibee. Also, I like a medium-rare steak with a hint of garlic and paprika. I also like sushi– specifically mango and volcano roll. I could go on…

What’s your ideal pizza/sandwich date?

I’d choose pizza any day of the week. An ideal pizza for me would be a donair pizza that has extra cheese, onions, and garlic, then watch a thriller movie with my wife.

Yes! Destined to choose a different path, only Town Star, Mirandus and The Walking Dead VOX have solved one of the greatest mysteries in the universe: how to develop a Soul.

Souls breathe life into VOX, adding more personality.

Each Soul has personality traits that are useful in the wide world of VOX. While having a Soul is not required to play VOX Odyssey or VOXverse, certain personality traits come in handy when building relationships or collecting resources. The choices you make matter and the type of Soul you have is meaningful.

Similar to the zodiac signs, the exact second your VOX was originally minted determines which type of Soul resonates with your VOX to start, but the connection isn’t permanent. Change your Soul as often as you like. You can scour the secondary markets to buy and sell different Souls to find the perfect one to infuse into your VOX.

With both VOX and VOX Souls, we will be introducing a new and exciting version of DeFi that you have not seen anywhere else. Instead of passive earning, users who own VOX (with an increase for those who own Souls) will get access to an ecosystem of products that will provide a variety of DeFi-related benefits. As a VOX (or VOX + Soul) owner who chooses to engage in our new and improved DeFi, keep in mind that engagement is not at all passive. DeFi rewards will always require activity, and the requirements of that activity will vary.

A Soul vibrates with enigmatic energy, which helps attract VOXcoin. A soul will serve as a boost for the potential rewards you can earn for playing with your VOX once VOXcoin is launched.

How to Summon Your Soul

To match each VOX from the first three series (Town Star, Mirandus, The Walking Dead), a total of 26,664 VOX Souls will eventually exist. You can now connect your MetaMask wallet to the CollectVOX.com website.

Only the first 2664 VOX Souls will be available in this first claim window, and these 2664 claims will all be free (except for gas). That leaves over 24,000 VOX still without souls, so look for TBA future sales for and VOX Soul claiming opportunities.

You can mint one Soul for each VOX you own and hold in your wallet. A VOX can only have their Soul minted one time. After a VOX’s Soul is claimed from the ethers, that VOX will lose access to the cosmic realm forever, making it ineligible to claim more Souls, even if transferred to a different wallet.

The Soul you will receive is predetermined based on the time of when your VOX was ‘born’ on the blockchain. It’s fate!

Big things are coming for VOXverse, as Gala Games and Will Wright team up with another gaming giant

There’s some breaking news for Galaxians– BIG news. As we’ve discussed previously, Will Wright (of SimCity fame) and his own Gallium Studios are crafting the world of VOXverse to bring all the wonderful VOXness that we all know and love to life.

Today, the VOXverse just got a lot livelier as news came out that Gallium is picking up some extra collaboration and cooperation from one of the biggest names in gaming.

Kind of a Big Deal

Unity announced a deal with Gala Games today to support the development of VOXverse. Working with Unity is a big step towards bringing the Web3 entertainment revolution to the masses, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. This deal is unprecedented anywhere in the Web3 space, and VOX everywhere (as well as their respective owners) should feel honored.

As part of the agreement, a team of developers and real-time 3D platform experts from Unity will collaborate and work with Gallium to support work on VOXverse, and also provide support to the internal studio at Gala Games behind Mirandus. We are already honored to be working with legends like the team at Gallium, and this cooperation with Unity just makes a great thing even better!

This is a significant vote of confidence from the Unity team in Gala Games’ vision for VOXverse and the future of Web3 technology, so this is exciting news for everyone. Above all though, this is exciting news for VOX fanatics everywhere– you may now begin the VOX dance.

With The Walking Dead VOX, VOX Idle, and now this without even half the year gone– this truly is already turning out to be the year of the VOX!

MetaVOX

As Wright discussed in an AMA not long ago, his vision is to create an interoperable, immersive metaverse like no other. Rather than VOX just being the coolest avatars around, Wright is passionate about creating a world in which owners really connect with their VOX through the stories they tell and the experiences they have.

Part of what make VOX so amazing is that every single one is unique. The VOXverse will play to that strength by not only letting you experience a whole digital universe through the eyes of your VOX, but also introducing dynamic changes over time as your VOX has wildly different experiences across a wide variety of games– all tied into a greater VOXverse! This means that VOX can grow even more uniquely yours as you navigate the VOXverse. VOX can build social influence, own land (in several dimensions), explore strange new places, earn, game, or even just hang out and be a VOX doing VOX stuff.

Areas of the VOXverse will be dedicated to the growing list of worlds that VOX calls friends. Each emerging VOX series will grow and expand on this, creating a world that never stops evolving. Your VOX will no longer just be a Mirandus VOX or a The Walking Dead VOX– all VOX will have their own part of the universe to call home.

VOX Odyssey will be a classic text-based adventure RPG only available to VOX owners. Throughout VOX Odyssey, you VOX can collect resources, craft items, and start to discover the fist secrets the VOXverse has to offer. For all the VOX out there, this is the chance for them to get a leg up on their new life in the VOXverse. This experience is slated to begin this summer, and we can hardly wait.

The Primarchs of the Crimson Sun

On the front line of the Gala Games legion are brave heroes that serve, defend and educate. Their ferocity to protect the community is equally matched by their compassion for every Galaxian. They carry good tidings between the people and the rest of the Gala Games team, but also carry the legendary Banhammer of Deletion.

The Primarchs of the Crimson Sun are Gala Games’ elite Customer Support squad. Longtime members of the community are likely very familiar with these devoted denizens of Discord, and it’s well past time to take a minute to get to know them a little better.

Today, we start with the lead of The Primarchs, Levi– better known as ChairBandit!

What do you do at Gala Games?

I’m a Customer Support Lead. I help identify issues that need fixing, interface with the other departments around the company in a variety of ways as well as the community to help get goals accomplished, and look good while doing it.

Why did you pick your Galaxian D&D title?

Bandit of Chairs, Mentor of CS, Wielder of Beard. My long history of stealing chairs has become somewhat of an urban legend on every continent except Antarctica (I’m coming for you next!) There have been many copycats over the years, but there can only be one true, original ChairBandit.

Lately I’ve been dedicating my life to mentoring the Customer Support team both professionally and personally to help them grow and become as awesome as they can be while maintaining a somewhat respectable beard. Having said that, I do plan on coming out of retirement one of these days for one last heist.

Favorite games/music

I actually grew up in the punk/metal scene. Mohawk, leather jacket, all that jazz. I still harbor quite a bit of love for that genre of music. It instills that rebellious mind set that helps me push forth and continue to want to change the world for the better, particularly for the little guy that often doesn’t get the attention or adoration they deserve.

As for video games, I’ve grown quite fond of seeing just how high my threshold for smashing a keyboard can be with Elden Ring and I’m loving every second of it. I’m also very much looking forward to competing in Spider Tanks and finally becoming the world renowned gaming legend my twelve year old self knew I could be.

Some of my old school gaming loves definitely lie with a variety of Super Nintendo and N64 titles such as MegaMan, Super Mario, Final Fantasy etc… One of my favorite games of all time is Donkey Kong 64 and it’s not up for debate.

Favorite food/hobbies/interests

Favorite food is definitely a Carne Asada Burrito. If ever I’m hungry and looking to order something and can’t decide on what to get, that is my default option probably 90% of the time.

As for hobbies and interests, that’s quite a difficult question. I’ve grown up with ADHD and one of the byproducts of it could actually be considered somewhat of a superpower when applied properly. It is my ability to entirely focus on a singular thing and learn everything there is to know about it, and I mean REALLY go down the rabbit hole.

One of the downsides is that this process is very cyclical and can result in a number of unfinished hobbies and projects all over the house that I’m “planning on getting to one day.” I’ve got 3d printers, Warhammer figures, lockpick sets, magic sets, you name it, just all over the house at all times and I jump into them for a couple weeks here and there. I am quite literally a Jack of All Trades and Master of None, but I enjoy how dedicated and enthusiastic I’m able to become with the things that interest me and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Previous experience that you bring to Gala Games

I come from a long history of being an IT nerd and a lot of it was customer service related. I’ve worked as the sole IT person for a large development company, I’ve worked for the US Department of Defense in a variety of roles, and that experience really helped me hit the ground running when I came over to Gala Games.

The best part is, I got to take all that professional experience I’ve accrued over a 10+ year career in IT and start applying it to my biggest hobby– video games!

Ideal pizza/sandwich date

Is a Mexican restaurant an acceptable response? Don’t get me wrong, pizza is great and all, but I’ll take a burrito over pizza any day of the week.

Which SpiderTanks hat bests describes you?

Definitely the viking helmet. I’m very in tune with my norse roots so any opportunity I have in a video game to adorn myself with viking aesthetics and pillage my way to victory is a no brainer.
