Founder’s Node Proposal — Two New Gaming Titles

Founder’s Node Proposal — Two New Gaming Titles

Well, this is a little awkward. We’re preparing to reveal and open presale for two incredibly exciting new games to be added to the Gala Games ecosystem. We’ll tell you everything we can, but with this governance vote, there will be a prevailing element of mystery, as we are not yet able to announce the titles or developers of these games.

This 24 hour Founder’s Node vote will begin sometime tomorrow (December 9th). We will announce in Discord as soon as the vote is live.

Why Vote First?

You may be wondering why we don’t wait until after the announcement of these titles to initiate the standard Founder’s Node governance vote.

At -into the galeverse we plan to not only reveal these two amazing games, but launch their initial presales and mint NFT items. This means that the governance vote must be conducted before any items are sold.

Why Not Say More?

You may be wondering why we cannot reveal the titles and developers of these games. The answer is simply that the Galaverse announcement has been specifically arranged through detailed negotiations. With games of this caliber, confidentiality is of utmost importance, as is honoring every part of every deal.

By submitting the new games for the approval of our Node operators, we are honoring the deal we made with our ecosystem. By respecting the confidentiality and coordinated release specifications of the new developers joining our platform, we honor our agreements with them as well.

Trust us. You’ll want these games to be part of our ecosystem.

Project 1— Survival MMORPG

This is the kind of thrilling addition to the Gala Games ecosystem that you’ll have to see to believe. In a brutal game of survival against (yet untold) forces, players will own land and try to carve out an existence for themselves in an apocalyptic frontier backed by the blockchain.

The title itself is a well-known household name, and the style of play lends itself beautifully to blockchain gaming. Its creepy atmosphere and spine-tingling style will blow you away, and the play-to-earn ownership mechanics will allow players and land owners to earn in exciting new ways. Additionally, the notoriety of this title will lead hordes of new players to discover blockchain gaming through Gala Games.

Project 2— Business Simulation

This game has already been thoroughly developed by one of the most esteemed creators in the professional gaming space. In what the well known developer describes as a “light bulb moment” while talking with Mirandus Game Director Michael McCarthy, it was decided that this title fits own-your-experience blockchain gaming in an absolutely perfect way.

The game itself is about ownership and business development. Using their own creativity and wiles, players create and grow businesses from idea to empire. With a world class development team at the helm and a complete play-to-earn economy brought to life by the experts at Gala Games, this title is sure to be an instant hit.

On to the Vote

We are so excited about both of these titles that we have them slated for release at -into the galaverse next weekend.

Node operators: Submit your votes for the next 24 hours, and we look forward to filling you in on all the juicy details live at -into the galaverse!

Will the Gala Games Founder’s Node operators add two new gaming titles to the ecosystem, both created by prominent and successful game developers, in exchange for a 4–8% distribution of all NFTs created by these titles? Project 1 is an MMORPG Survival game and Project 2 is a Simulation game. More information about both titles will be released at Into the Galaverse on December 11th, 12th and 13th.

PLEASE READ: Platform Security Upgrade

PLEASE READ: Platform Security Upgrade

TL;DR

  • There have been updates to Gala Games’ login security which move the login domain to auth.gala.games — please check to make sure you are using the correct site.
  • This change will take place in approximately one hour.
  • 2-Factor Authentication is very strongly recommended to protect your account
  • Node Operators must upgrade to the newest Node Software by January 3rd, 2022.

We know that the internet can be a scary place sometimes, so we always want to do our best to keep users as safe as possible. That is why our team here at Gala Games is hardening the security surrounding our login processes. While this will involve a dollop of change, it’s nothing too tricky.

It might look a little different, but it won’t hurt a bit. By improving our security and scalability, we’ll be able to head forth into the future more prepared than ever.

Everyone Loves a Login!

The next time you log into your account at Gala Games, you’ll be redirected to a new Welcome login prompt asking for your email address and password. Complete both fields and click on Continue.

If you have 2FA (two-factor authentication) set up on your account (this important security measure is highly recommended), you will be redirected to another prompt asking you to Verify Your Identity.

Type in your temporary code and click on Continue. This will complete your login process to your Gala Games Account. If you don’t have 2FA set up, you won’t see this second Verify Your Identity prompt.

I Forgot my Password… I think.

If you don’t remember your password on the Welcome prompt, you can click the Forgot Password link below the Password field and go through the steps to reset your Password. It’s a quick process.

I WANT MY 2FA!

If you decide to activate or deactivate the 2FA on your account, you can now do so through the Settings page through the Two-Factor Authentication link. It’s a simple process that might look a little different from what you’re used to.

We recommend that you enable 2FA for all actions within your account for the greatest possible security.

Issues You May Encounter

If you have reset your password or email in the last several hours, you may encounter temporary login issues. They are expected to be resolved within 12 hours.

If you reset your password, your nodes will need to be upgraded to version 2.3.X in order to log in again.

Noodling in the Nodes

You will be required to upgrade your Node software to the latest version no later than January 3, 2022. After installing the latest version, you should be able to log in with your email address and password like before.

If you recently changed your password and are having problems logging in with the old software, you should be able to login successfully after you’ve installed the latest version of the Node software. Please note a separate browser window will appear to confirm device registration.

Upcoming Improvements

There are other changes on the near horizon for platform security, including:

  • Automatic Bot Prevention
  • IP-based Login Confirmation
  • Adaptive MFA

Back to the Gaming!

We appreciate your patience with our new, albeit slightly different looking, login process as we continue to improve your Gala Games experience one day at a time.

Danger’s Dock — Part 11 — Valentina and the Echoes of Empire

Danger’s Dock — Part 11 — Valentina and the Echoes of Empire

Danger’s Dock

It was stupid. It was so stupid. It was the kind of stupid Valentina actively avoided.

Sometimes stupid was the only reasonable choice.

Valentina had already swung through a number of systems staying ahead of Grumpy and Icy, who were on her tail as soon as she made the faster-than-light jump. She didn’t even know exactly where she was, but she finally found what she was looking for: An Arbeiter ship. This was enemy territory (at least at the moment), but she had to sneak aboard in search of answers.

This particular Arbiter ship was a Titan. Practically a floating colony, so there was no way for them to know every single face aboard. Even better, unlike the Garrison, the Arbiters didn’t bother with uniforms as long as everyone followed a general sort of dress code. Valentina’s orange exo-suit blended in nicely with all the other mechanics, pilots, and service people who kept the huge ship running smoothly.

There was a special sort of attitude that was needed when sneaking into somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be, an artistry that Valentina expertly appreciated and always used to her advantage.

The first rule was to act like you belong.

Valentina casually landed the Asterias in one of the smaller hangers, off to the side but still primed for a quick getaway.

“Got a delivery,” she said when one of the hanger’s overseers swung by to find out what she wanted. Valentina affected a bored expression and jerked her thumb back towards her ship while proffering her credentials as a certified delivery ship with her other hand. The overseer looked them over skeptically. “Dame Sophie Anja. She’s meeting me in the Upper. I know where I’m going.”

Lies, every word, but there was a loud crash from across the hanger. The overseer thrust her tablet back at her and whirled on his heel. That was damned lucky, and Valentina hated to rely on luck.

“If you get lost, check the consoles,” he called over his shoulder. “Don’t wander. Security does regular sweeps.”

With that, he was gone and Valentina offered a half-hearted wave. The tablet went back on her belt and she headed for the nearest console. She had a very expensive little slicer, bought for the rare occasion that she needed to get into a ship’s memory banks in a hurry. It wasn’t subtle, but she was only a few steps from the Asterias, and the hanger doors were too big to close fast. She could be gone in a flash if necessary.

As soon as she plugged the slicer into the console, it lit up and went to work. She had already programmed it to look for anything on Sigis Station, her name, and references to Prince Gabriel. To cover the slicer, she pulled up a map of the ship, and scrolled through it casually. Before long, the slicer flashed and the files popped up on the screen. Valentina quickly copied them to a data chip, but froze when a document caught her eye.

It was about the Miasma.

Valentina skimmed over it while the other files copied. For a minute, she was confused about why it had gotten caught in her slicer’s information net. Then when she saw her own name, what she discovered chilled her blood and paled her face.

The Miasma. The Arbiters were looking for the source of the Miasma. They thought it was a weapon, and worse, they thought she knew where that weapon could be found.

As soon as she was done copying the files, Valentina headed back for the Asterias. It took all her strength to walk slowly, and even to wave at the overseer who had checked on her before. Anything to keep a low profile. Anything for them to ignore her just long enough for her to get out of the system and figure out what her next move would be.

Part 1 — Kepler’s Remnant

Part 2 — Sovereign Protectorate

Part 3 — Lightspire

Part 4 — Shepherd’s Void

Part 5 — Celestious Nox

Part 6 — The Crucible

Part 7 — Edge of the Miasma

Part 8 — The Pale

Part 9 — In Too Deep

Part 10 — The Quick Slip

Valentina’s adventure gets deeper and more dangerous with every chapter. Now that she’s discovered her her own unavoidable entanglement in this nightmare, where will she go? How will she ever be able to complete her work again with a low profile?

Valentina has not yet decided her next destination, but once she does, it will be high time for another round of the Celestial Claim Land Presale in a new Star Cluster.

Pay close attention and watch what happens next!
