Version 1 Crafting | Project Cerberus

Buy VOX land for a limited time and get a 100% $GALA rebate!

Hey all! Let’s take a break from our meet the team entries to chat a bit about crafting.

Yes, there is a reason you are collecting all those resources in V0.5! It’s not just about who has the biggest pile of wood and stone.

The Crafting Hall

First we’ll take a look at our crafting space. Our little friends needed a place to put all their trinkets together so we built them a crafting hall. Unlike fantasy games with a “Ye Olde Blacksmithy”, we went a bit more modern with 3D printing machines. We figured that if VOX can have teleportation tech, 3D printing seemed like the way to go.

We have a new friend that lives here–Nuts McBolty– who will help players with the crafting process, overseeing any VOX or ProtoVOX that are spending their time here.

Why build a 3d environment for crafting? Well, we needed to start testing out crafting on landscape for V2. Being a small team we needed to do some R&D work around that, so we might as well combine it with the crafting development that was already happening. This allows part of the team to work out the 3D aspects for the next phase of the project– creating buildings and decoration– without affecting the current development of crafting.

Crafting at its Core for Project Cerberus

In short, crafting is the ability to create items and eventually rooms, decorations and more!

  • Each Account will have a crafting button available in the Main Map UI that opens the players 3D Print Farm.
  • 1 Printing Station will initially be unlocked for each account.
  • Additional Printing Stations will be available to unlock.
  • Each station will have a level from 1-5.
  • Each station can craft 1 recipe at a time.
  • A worker slot will require that 1 worker is equipped in order for the Printing Station to function.

Those are the rules, so what can I make? For version 1, the list is limited, and we need your help to make sure the process works before we open up the catalog. Over time we will add more and more items to craft over time– some you can learn, some you can get as rewards and some you can purchase through the store. We will talk about the store in a later dev blog.

With the game’s initial crafting system, you’ll have the ability to craft everything from powerups to more advanced crafting parts and even some surprises.

So How Do I Craft?

First you go to the 3D room and Select a printer and add a VOX…

Select a recipe…

It’s that simple!

Two other systems fold directly into crafting: The store (buy items needed for crafting)

and account leveling, which will allow players to unlock more advanced recipes.

We will talk about those features in a future blog real soon! – The VOX Populi

$GCHIPS–Teaming up with Battle Showdown: Gambit to Raise the Stakes in Web3 Gaming

$GCHIPS–Teaming up with Battle Showdown: Gambit to Raise the Stakes in Web3 Gaming

After the release of the developer-first GalaChain SDK earlier this year, GalaChain is just getting warmed up. But aside from the advances toward mass web3 adoption across multiple world industries, GalaChain is still prepared to revolutionize the gaming industry, empowering players like never before through ownership and rewards.

We’re always on the lookout to join forces with quality projects that share our mission of player empowerment and today we’re announcing the beginning of a new partnership that will do just that: Gala… Get ready for Battle Showdown: Gambit.

The Partnership

With a specific focus on intermingling our upcoming Gala Casino token, $GCHIPS, with the Battle Showdown: Gambit economy, this strategic partnership takes a different approach from some of the other partnerships we have recently announced. Right now we can only give you an appetizer, but the main courses of this partnership are sure to leave you satisfied, collaboratively demonstrating the latest in generative AI gaming and web3 SkillFi.

As first announced in this Litepaper, the Gala Casino token will soon bring a new way to get rewarded for playing your favorite casino style games on GalaChain. As Ethlas prepares for launch of its Gambit web3 gaming platform and “SkillFi” flagship game Battle Showdown: Gambit, we’re kicking off this partnership with a token swap to facilitate and incentivize interaction between both thriving communities.

Following the creation of the new $GCHIPS token, Gala will swap some $GCHIPS with an equivalent amount of $ELS, the governance token of Ethlas and the Battle Showdown: Gambit ecosystem.

More info is coming soon about the details of this initial token swap. The teams at both Gala and BSD Gambit are each eagerly exploring ways to create interoperable functionality for NFTs from the other’s ecosystem, and we’re excited to share more news in the near future!

Prepare for Battle

The Gambit launch and Battle Showdown: Gambit will allow players of the mobile platform shooter to receive rewards in-game, but tokens will also be deducted for deaths.

Additionally, a special spectator mode will allow a different kind of play dubbed “SkillFi,” which allows spectators to back players of their choice by purchasing Bits for specific players.

With reward multipliers available for various levels of NFT ownership, referral bonuses and multiple ways to farm rewards even before Battle Showdown gameplay is live, you can start collecting Gambit Points right away! Learn more about these opportunities on the BSG: Gambit blog

Familiarize yourself with BSG: Gambit’s economy plans in the Whitepaper and you’ll begin to understand why we’re so excited for $GCHIPS and Gala Casino to team up with Ethlas, $ELS and Battle Showdown: Gambit.

Look out for updates and announcements about this SkillFi gaming partnership as BSD: Gambit and Gala Casino prepare for launch!

Malum’s forces gather, but the mightiest Heroes and Dragons in the land stand ready to fight. Will you take the battlefield?

Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG has come a long way since landing on the Gala Games platform. It’s been an exciting past year, with long-time players of the mobile game finding a new home with Gala and new players discovering this amazing RPG/puzzle hybrid!

Web2 to Web3

Dragon Strike was first released in 2019 as a traditional mobile title. While the core gameplay loop has stayed true to what made it so fun in the first place, last May we implemented the ability to fully own your own Heroes within the game.

Since then, players have been able to browse and list NFT Heroes on the official Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG OpenSea collection or NFT Harbor. For those who still prefer the old fashioned way of summoning their Heroes through the game, they can summon NFT-Ready Heroes directly from The Summoning Portal or grab a Scroll of Minting and turn any maxed out Hero into an NFT!

This added a lot of new strategy and possibilities for building your team, but we weren’t done yet. In July of last year we opened up the ability to compete for a weekly $GALA prize in the Gala Games Leaderboard. This leaderboard aggregates your progress from the regular weekly events and the arena, adding a multiplier for the amount of NFT Heroes within your party.

With these changes, Dragon Strike was brought up to speed in the web3 world. While it maintains the super-engaging event and battle loop that was so fun in its web2 version, there are more ways players can engage with their Heroes and meta strategy!

New Heroes

Before coming to Gala, Dragon Strike had tons of content in the game, but long-time players were after new strategies and updates to freshen their experience within the game. While the Gala Games Leaderboard created entirely new ways to play, there was a little more that the team had cooked up.

Gala Gold users saw an all new 5-star Hero drop into the game in August, with the mighty Aurum the perfect compliment to the gilded group. All members got a drop of this exclusive card as just another Gala Gold membership perk!

Aurum wasn’t about to be the last new Hero on Dragon Strike, however. Starting in August, 20 new Heroes entered the game through the weekly event Hero rotation. Many of these Heroes transformed the long-hardened strategy executed at the highest levels, shaking up the competition and creating new ways to reach the top.

Celebrations and Events

As usual, Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG still has some extra fun added in at holidays throughout the year. Whether it was looting the Halloween dungeon or stocking up on sweets during the Winter Event, these added events always have a way of changing up the game and giving everyone a new angle on strategy.

Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG has only been on GalaChain for a little while. Who knows what kinds of parties are in the future!

Battle On!

Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG still has more plans and content charted for it. This game was originally developed by Ember Entertainment, and came to the Gala family when they joined forces with us.

We have no firm dates for future content in Dragon Strike: Puzzle RPG as of yet.. With so many new Heroes added to the mix recently, there’s no need to keep disrupting the battle for the top with new strategies. The community echoed this sentiment, in fact, near the end of the release of new Heroes last year. New stuff is great, but eventually you’re after some sort of stability to execute the plans you’ve laid out for your army!

Just in the past 10 months we’ve come so far bringing this game into the web3 world without compromising what made it great in the first place. If you haven’t checked out Dragon Strike in a while… hop in and give it a go!

Only a few days until the next Tournament… better sharpen those swords and ready your dragons!
