Have you seen the limited edition crystal sculpture NFT at FrankMiller.io? It’s absolutely stunning, and it thinks outside the box as an NFT. When you buy one, you’re paying for a physical polycarbonate printed crystal, but you’ll get a lot more than that. Inside the crystal is etched a unique code to redeem for an exclusive art NFT created by Frank Miller and Concept Art House.
Today, Town Star is sweetening the deal by bringing this NFT into #TSP2E.
That’s right. Not only will you have a physical piece of Frank Miller history that will adorn your most well-lit shelf for years to come, but you can use the NFT within to earn TownCoin daily in Town Star.
The Sale Continues
As of now, there are still plenty of “The Noir Hero” available, but we have a sneaking suspicion that with this new announcement of added Town Star utility, the remaining copies of this piece will go extremely quickly.
Just to recap, when you purchase “The Noir Hero” with either USDC or a credit card on Frankmiller.io, you will receive a beautiful and virtually indestructible crystal sculpture of some of Frank Miller’s finest work.
Once you have held the crystal in your hand and redeemed the unique code within, you’ll also receive a limited edition NFT that will be usable in Town Star Play-to-Earn.
Where Does Town Star Come In?
Sin City’s signature character, Marv, will watch over your Town Star town, ensuring that it will always uphold the ideals of justice and reminding you that things aren’t always as they seem.
In the game, the NFT will take the form of a beautiful statue, reimagined within Town Star by our talented art team led by Art Director Warren Marshall. It will stand as a beacon of hope and support for the underdogs, the oppressed, and the down on their luck. Most importantly, as long as you’ve completed your Daily Challenge and have the Gala Power level to support it, this NFT will earn you 50 TOWN each day (exact number subject to change).
The Town Star team is excited to give you another example of what play-to-earn can do, adding utility to an already amazing and groundbreaking piece of art. We are proud to support the Sin City 30th Anniversary NFT Series in this way, and we hope you all have a chance to hold one of these exquisite crystal sculptures in your hand to feel the magic for yourself.

Some are sold for TOWN, and others are sold for GALA. All are eligible for TOWN P2E rewards in the game, provided you accomplish your Daily Challenges and actually dare to place them in your town.

Additional In-Game Benefits
This is the news you Town Star fans are waiting for. Until now, the only type of tile in the game that has provided a passive oil bonus has been the rare Oil Seep, which comes only with desert geography.
As freaky fortune has it, there is a bizarre bubbly black substance seeping from the baseboards of the Haunted Mansion. It looks and acts like oil, but is it oil? Who’s to say?
Every piece of the Haunted Mansion provides passive oil to surrounding buildings. This means that when placed next to your industrial buildings, those buildings will automatically have oil provided to them. The amount of oil provided varies on the rarity of the unit.
Additionally, the Haunted Porch will passively produce pumpkins. If you’re lucky, the cursed spirit of the Headless Horticulturist may even appear to deliver the pumpkins where they are needed.
These modular Haunted Mansion NFTs will be available until they sell out, or until an undisclosed TBA time in November, when they may suddenly vanish from the store!
The sleek stealth reconnaissance ship cruised along at a low altitude just above the 13th north parallel. On cloudy and moonless nights like these, it was easy to fly low without being seen, even without use of the external cloaking mechanism. Tonight the fog was fortunate, because the stimulon fuel cells had been acting up since Neptune. Engineering Officer Ghorf was quite certain that unforeseen electromagnetic interference from the ice giant had caused issues within the self-charging fuel cells; he had yet to discover a way to reverse the process, so for now the crew had to rough it with minimal comforts. None were happy about it. There were purple tentacles throughout the ship and every cranial antenna was vibrating with stress.
Leader Bolodo’s writhing and gelatinous tentacled thorax was settled into the captain’s recession on the bridge, and his large eye was firmly affixed on the infrared viewing screen that was scouring the ground below. It was more than just his cranial antennae picking up on the disgruntled feelings of his crew. Bolodo had earned his accolades through his keen sense of danger. Even among the most disciplined who served the Space Glob, mutiny was always a possibility, and especially when discomfort was involved. As Bolodo’s mother had often told him, “Trust is a sapien trait. Squirgs respond to power.” She had been a wise squirg.
Leader Bolodo was hoping that this mission would be over very quickly and the crew could return to Mothership Epsilon, just beyond the reaches of this primitive solar system. Orders were to retrieve one male and one female sapien from earth, a planet that was overrun by billions of the vermin. The subjects would be retrieved via tractor beam, then stored in akinitos jelly until arrival at the Mothership, at which point experimentation and implantation would promptly begin. All in all it was a routine abduction, but Bolodo was in a hurry to get it over with.
As the cruiser quietly approached the dark coast of a large island, Leader Bolodo scanned for lifeforms near the water’s edge. He couldn’t help snarling with delight as he found one of each (male and female) entirely alone just off the beach. He brought the ship in to hover very low, discovering that each of the subjects was inside a boat. Bolodo was familiar with boats, the strange primitive water ships used on this planet, whose surface consisted primarily of water. Unfortunately, these boats had roofs that would have to be removed before the tractor beam could be used.
Hoping the magnetic cannon was functioning at full power after the brush with Neptune, Leader Bolodo inserted an index tentacle into the device’s control plug. It powered up quickly, so first he targeted the boat that contained the female. The magnetic cannon made quick work of ripping off the boat’s roof, like the simple removal of a leaf from a tree. The female was looking up at the craft and screaming (a strange sapien behavior) when the tractor beam began to pull. Before a minute had passed, she was inside the receiving dock of the ship. Her obnoxious screams hammered the echo drums of every squirg aboard until finally she was safely absorbed into akinitos jelly chamber that would preserve her until arrival at the Mothership.
Leader Bolodo then positioned the ship over the boat containing the male subject. On the infrared screen, the sapien could be seen running around inside, as if alarmed by the commotion caused by the female’s abduction. The magnetic cannon was activated again, quickly removing the boat’s roof and exposing the sapien within. Then the tractor beam was extended and the male subject was retrieved. He wasn’t screaming like the female, so Leader Bolodo was able to visit the receiving dock personally to inspect the new arrival.
He was surprised when he arrived to find not a single creature, but two. The young male sapien had curled beneath his arm a tiny pink animal, the likes of which Bolodo had never seen before. It had the appearance of a pig, which he had studied in the academy, but it was so much smaller than any of the pig images he recalled. The male subject held the pig protectively, as if they were two unlikely friends. The sight was quite hilarious to Bolodo, and all his tentacles turned green with amusement.
After activating his voice filter and setting the dial to sapien english, Leader Bolodo addressed the subject. “Do you speak?” he asked loudly of the sapien. The subject nodded his head, in an affirmative gesture that Bolodo recognized, so Bolodo asked another question. “What’s your name?”
In a quaking and curious voice, but with a strange lack of fear, the boy replied, “My friends call me Jimmy.”
In the time since the Pre-Proposal on Node Rewards was released, there has been a great deal of discussion in our Discord and in person about exactly how to best structure the network so that it is resilient, highly functional, and serves the needs of the games that are coming to the Gala Games platform. While a great deal of calculation went into the initial proposal, we were contacted by quite a few people who said that their ability to produce content in support of the network would be negatively impacted by the structure of the pre-proposal. We decided that the best thing to do was present the full array of choices to the node network and allow YOU, the node operators, to choose how the rewards structure will work.
The one thing which is non-negotiable is that the IPFS version of the nodes is going to be required for the future growth of the network. This means that the nodes will have somewhat higher requirements but can still easily be operated on a home computer without special hardware requirements beyond what a basic computer would have.
There are essentially four different levers on which node operators will be able to vote:
Question: If every six hours results in one point in the daily distribution, how much should each subsequent six hours of stable connectivity be worth?
0 points — You get nothing extra for providing more services (Maximum points in any 24 period for one node: 1 point)
.5 points — You get something, but not as much as you received for the initial six hours of uptime (Maximum points in any 24 period for one node: 2.5 points)
1 point — Six hours is six hours and a node operator should be rewarded for each six hours they are supporting the network. (Maximum points in any 24 period for one node: 4 points)
1.5 points — Node operators should be incentivized to continue providing stable connections beyond the initial minimum. (Maximum points in any 24 period for one node: 5.5 points)
Question: How much of a one-time referral bonus do you believe is fair for referring a node purchaser to the Gala Node Ecosystem?
0 points — You get nothing extra for referring a new node operator
5 points — You get something, but less than the current structure
10 points — You receive a bonus in points which is similar to the current structure
15 points — You believe that one-time referrals are essential to growing the ecosystem
Question: How much of an ongoing referral bonus do you believe is fair for referring a node purchaser to the Gala Node Ecosystem?
(Note: these figures are expressed as a % of the rewards received by a node operator)
0% — You get nothing extra for referring a new node operator
5% — You get something, but less than the current structure
10% — You receive a bonus in points which is similar to the current structure
15% — You believe that ongoing referral bonuses are essential to growing the ecosystem
Question: If the node operators elect to continue the long-term ongoing referral bonuses, how many levels deep should this bonus extend?
1 level (Less than they extend currently — to direct referrals only)
2 levels (The same distance as they currently extend — to referrals of referrals)
3 levels (One more level than they currently extend — to referrals of referrals of referrals)
There may be several more options, but these are the basic points node operators will be able to vote on. These options are currently being explored by our statistics and economics teams. Prior to a vote, a more in-depth post will be shared with the community showing these findings and sharing some backtracked analytics to see what the network would look like with these various settings in play. We will also actively engage with the community to learn their thoughts on the broader issues, hosting several AMAs and panels of community members to discuss these options. Stay tuned for a lot more news, debate, and discussion on these points!
There is a LOT more coming for the Gala Games ecosystem, so make sure to keep in touch, watch the Discord (http://galagames.chat) and get ready for more interesting news! Follow Gala Games on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or in our Discord!
On a hazy autumn evening when the lights of Halloween decorations had just begun their nightly glimmer throughout the neighborhood and the first leaves had fallen from the trees, a Gala gamer was absorbed in the eerie glow of her computer’s screen. With a sudden shiver, she realized the time had finally come and approached the thermostat on the wall. With a deafening click that echoed through the halls of her sparsely furnished house, she flipped the switch from “cool” to “heat” and a grim rumble began to issue from beneath the floor. She would feel its dry warmth soon, but for now she reached for the nearest blanket she could find. It was a sharp and wiry monstrosity of wool that scratched the bare skin of her arms, but the temporary discomfort was worth it for the warmth it provided.
After a long day of playing to earn with an expertly crafted Town Star town that she had perfected over the last two weeks, the gamer was ready to ship the evening’s last load of cakes and call it a day. This shipment was enough to break her into the leaderboard, which was a good place to stop until tomorrow. Even after closing her Town Star town, a peculiar shade of green washed over her Twitter and Reddit feeds, neither of which contained any exciting news for the evening. Finally, she headed to Discord for her last check-in of the day with her favorite online home: The Gala Games community. Little did this gamer know, she was heading straight for an encounter with the Ghost of Wen.
With a glass of wine in her hand and armed with a generous supply of GIFs, memes and witty responses at the ready, she jumped into the discussion. This was a place where she was always welcomed and appreciated. From her Town Star expertise to her likable demeanor, to the pictures of her cats she frequently shared, she was a Discord star. After answering a few simple noob questions about Town Star strategy and directing a few more to Townstar.com for more information, she noticed that the chat room was oddly quiet for this normally bustling time of evening. These were usually the hours when gamers on her side of the world were settling down for the night, but also the hours when the other side of the world was having their morning coffee or tea, getting started for the day. She relished in the amusing chaos that often resulted from this cultural intersection of chatters. But tonight was different.
After a few minutes of strange silence, she started with the GIFs. First a cricket, the universal sign of awkward silence. Then she searched “/tenor hello” to find an adorable animated meme of a cartoon mouse banging on a wall, thinking it would at least elicit some emoji responses. Not a single one. Beginning to panic, she reached for the big guns: “Anyone there?” She thought that this Thor meme was bound to get some reactions, but there was still nothing. Her connection was fine, and all systems were functioning correctly. She sat there motionless, breathlessly waiting for someone to respond, even to the point of ignoring her cat as it asked for a meal. Beyond the cat’s meows, there was silence and stillness. She could hardly bear it.
Suddenly a familiar tone sounded, and an avatar she had never seen before with the name Ghost_of_Wen appeared at the top of her direct messages. Hoping for a meaningful discussion, she took a closer look at the avatar image. It was a strange closeup picture of a hand cupped around an ear, as if listening closely for something. Half expecting some kind of auto-spammed server invite, the gamer clicked the avatar to reveal a single word message followed by a question mark.
Wen?
This was clearly not the correct spelling of the word, but anyone who had spent any time in the Gala Games community would know about this inside joke. Wen game? Wen leak? Wen drop? She chuckled inelegantly to herself in acknowledgement of the strangely placed joke, then responded to the message. “Wen what? 😜”. The response came almost instantly…
Wen?
Even though central heat was finally filling the room, she shivered again. With a sudden bad feeling about this strange messenger, she quickly moved to block them from contacting her further. After the deed was done, she sighed a sigh of relief and fed her impatient cat the rest of a can of tuna from earlier in the day. When she returned to her screen, there were no new messages, which was more of a relief than she expected. However, looking at the various channels in the Gala Games community, she noticed a strange new channel called 🔊WEN_VOICE. There appeared to be two users currently chatting in this channel, which she had never noticed before. One of them was Ghost_of_Wen, and the other was her. Ghost_of_Wen’s name was blinking white to indicate that they were currently speaking.
Reaching for her headphones and quite fed up with what she now assumed was an inappropriate prank, she listened. As soon as she brought the headphones to her ears, the speaking abruptly stopped. There was a silence that seemed to last for several minutes, then suddenly Ghost_of_Wen loudly whispered…
“Wen!”
With a startled scream, the gamer threw down her headphones and disconnected herself from the voice chat. With sweaty palms she logged out of Discord and opened Twitter, where she could not believe her eyes. One after another, her feed was filled with tweets from the same avatar and the same name: Ghost_of_Wen. Each tweet tagged her directly, followed by the 3-letter question that made her skin crawl: Wen? Scrolling down, she realized these tweets went on for many pages. She could not find the bottom. Her direct messages shared the same chilling story. Her email, Facebook, and Reddit feed were all overrun with the same message of torment.
“Wen!”
Finally the gamer could take no more. She shut down her machine and backed to the opposite corner of the room. It was completely dark now, and a full moon could be seen outside her front window. As sweat rolled down her brow, she was struggling to catch her breath when a text notification came in. Relieved at the sudden distraction from the real world, she reached for her phone wondering who had texted. Then in a moment of sheer spine-chilling terror, she realized that her phone had been powered off and out of charge. Wishing she had never stopped playing Town Star, she tapped the phone’s face to see the incoming message…
