Raid Boss: Zagor the Unthawed

A giant of living frost has come to the world, and no single party can bring it down alone. Zagor the Unthawed is the first Raid Boss of Mirandus Eternal Night.

Find the purple glow on the map. Each fight costs one Raid Sigil. Survive the fight to earn Gold, Ice Orbs and a chance at Frost Essence. Every adventurer who wounds Zagor adds to the same fight. When it falls, everyone who fought it earns rewards by damage rank.

Raid rewards go straight to your Stash. You do not need to carry them back to a safe zone.

Frost Crafting: Raid Sigils, Frost Essence and the Ice Minotaur Set

Zagor’s frost does not melt. Smiths have learned to work it.

Raid Sigil. There are two ways to get one. Complete 6 daily missions to earn a Raid Sigil, or craft it at a Forge from Ice Orbs, Bronze Ingots and Ash Planks. One Sigil opens one fight against Zagor.

Frost Essence. Frost comes in three sizes. Minor Frost Essence comes from fighting Zagor and from Frozen Chests. Refine ten Minor Frost Essence into one Frost Essence, and ten Frost Essence into one Major Frost Essence. You can refine at any Deed, in your Tent or at a Camp.

The Ice Minotaur set. Major Frost Essence and Ice Orbs forge the Ice Minotaur set at the highest tier of the Armoury, Weapon Shop and Archery:

  • Ice Minotaur Helm, Cuirass and Legguards, with Bronze Ingots, at the Armoury.
  • Ice Minotaur Boots, with Cured Leather, at the Armoury.
  • Ice Minotaur Greataxe, with Bronze Ingots, at the Weapon Shop. It takes both hands.
  • Ice Minotaur Bow, with Ash Planks, at the Archery. It takes both hands.

A piece of the set can also turn up, rarely, in a Bronze Frozen Chest.

Chests and Craftable Keys

Locked chests wait out in the world, and each one opens only with its own key. The key breaks when it turns.

Every key can be crafted. Make the key you need, then go and find its chest.

Ashwood Chests are plain chests of pale ash, bound in copper and tin. Craft an Ashwood Key from ash wood, copper and tin at any Deed, in your Tent or at a Camp. The chests hold Gold, raw materials and sometimes a piece of equipment.

Since Zagor came, Frozen Chests have appeared in the cold. The Copper, Tin and Bronze Frozen Chests each need a matching Frozen Key, forged at a Forge from Frost Essence, Ice Orbs and an ingot of the same metal. The rarer the chest, the richer the frost inside: Frost Essence, ingots and, rarely, a piece of the Ice Minotaur set.

Cemeteries

Fallen Echoes do not stay fallen. A Cemetery stands on a Deed, and its rites bring your Echoes back.

Choose the Borrowed Body rite for Gold, or the Retrieved Body rite with $GALA to bring your Echo back whole, with sharper senses. A Cemetery stands in the Citadel of the Moon, open to every adventurer for the Borrowed Body rite.

Cemetery NFT owners stock their Cemetery with Shovels, set their Retrieved Body rate and earn a share of every rite performed there.

Quests

Some characters in the world carry a story and a request. Look for a ? over their head.

Fortenax waits in his cage. His quests teach you to craft, to light your road and to hunt fire and ice, until you hold what can set him free. Aldric came out of The Long Acre alone, and he has a story about what it takes to hold land in the Night.

Accept a quest, follow it, and come back when every objective is done. Quest rewards go straight to your Stash.

Livelier Zones

The wilds are never empty. Enemies return quickly, in small groups, inside every zone, so there is always a fight close by. Tents and camps leave the zone’s enemies in place.

Enemy Levels:

Every enemy shows its level. Check it before you engage, and pick the fights your party can win.

Multiple Crafting

Crafting keeps working while you are away. Craft several items in one go, and every craft in progress shows in one list. Close the window and come back later to claim your crafted items.

New Crafts

The settlements’ workshops have new work. The Tannery, Armoury, Archery, Granary, Brewery, Woodshop, Bakery and Weapon Shop have new recipes, from Ash Planks and Malt to a Bronze Greataxe, an Ashwood Longbow and Studded leather gear.

Barley Ale keeps a traveller walking long after the mug is empty. Malt Loaf mends a body slowly.

Tent and Homestead Revamp

Your Tent and your Homestead have a fresh new look, and the town is better aligned.

Player Info and Wayfinder

Player Info has a clearer look, with everything about your adventurer in one place. The Wayfinder is one click away, with its own button next to the Global Store.

Mirandus EN Wayfinder: the Map

The Companion App has a Map tab. Open it to see the terrain, the zones and the buildings around your party, wherever you are.

Improvements and Fixes

  • Crafted items are safe. A craft waits for you until you claim it, and a full pouch keeps it waiting.
  • Bot detection is more precise, so normal players are not flagged.
  • Many small fixes to the town, the build menu and the NPCs.

See you in the Night.
