What’s better than playing with your friends? Getting rewarded for it, of course!

The community of Pilots competing in arenas throughout the Planetary Cluster is a tight-knit group. In the arena, there’s no mercy for your opponent. When the missiles are disarmed though, Pilots generally watch out for each other, share tips and tricks, and otherwise just have a great time together.

Now, just because the arena is such a friendly place doesn’t mean we don’t have room for some new friends. The more the merrier! The veteran Pilots in the arena have been forged in the crucible of combat, but there always needs to be new challengers eager to take their place as legends of the arena.

The Spider Friends Referral Program

Spider Tanks is great to play with friends, so we thought it was time to put a little bonus in place for players who spread the word and introduce new people to the arena!

With this system, you’ll be able to receive free Tank Parts as you bring more players into the game. We know playing with friends is already a reward all by itself… but what’s not better with a free Tank!?

Each time you refer a friend that racks up 10 wins, you’ll get a little closer to your next free part. We’ll be checking these referrals monthly, so expect to get rewards for any qualifying referrals each month as Tank Parts get shipped out across the solar system!

Program Details

Any player who is new to Gala Games that signs up using your referral link will count towards your Spider Friends progress. You can find this link in the top navigation bar of games.gala.com, under ‘Refer A Friend’.

Once someone signs up using your link though, that won’t be quite enough to qualify for referral credit. This is the arena after all, and there’s something very important that every new player must do before they’re officially a Pilot… Win!

Players you refer to Spider Tanks will only further your progress in Spider Friends once they win 10 matches. After they’ve won 10 matches, they’ll count towards your total referrals and you’ll get closer to that next free tank part. You won’t get any added perks for any wins beyond their 10th… but it’ll sure pay off when you party up with them to grind up some ranks!

As you refer more qualifying players, you’ll climb through the following rewards:

• 1 Friend: Common Captain’s Hat Prop
• 5 Friends: Common Maul Body
• 10 Friends: Common Bouncer Weapon
• 25 Friends: Common Tiger Hero Tank

These rewards may change in the future, but we’ll keep you updated when that does happen. For now, these rewards will be available to all Spider Tanks players as long as they meet the requirements.

Each month we’ll check who meets the criteria for each level of rewards listed above so we can send your shiny new parts over!

This all new Tank unleashes the true power of nature on the arena.

Another Tank is coming to the arena, and this one is going to be HOT! The Stag will soon arrive to rain fire down on its opponents. Can you handle the sizzle?

Stag dominates the battlefield by creating zones of fire. Like other artillery Weapons, some Pilots may have to adapt to the arcing firing pattern but it’s well worth it for those who master it.

Stag’s Fire Artillery can pin down and roast out opponents from behind walls, or follow using the reliably tough Fletcher Body and make enemies really feel the heat.

The Stag brings 4 all-new Tank Parts to the arena along with it and Pilots will have the opportunity to add them to their Garages on Tuesday, July 25th.

Sale Details

This sale will kick off next week on Tuesday, July 25th. Like usual, we will be releasing the supply for this sale in two waves. We hope this gives Pilots across the solar system more opportunity to grab one of these new Tank Parts at a time that’s convenient for them.

On the day of the sale, the first wave will enter the Spider Tanks Store at 12pm PT. 8 hours later, the rest of the available supply will be added into the store. Higher rarities have been selling out fast for many of our recent sales. Plan ahead if you want to grab one before it’s too late!

These items will all still carry a percentage discount as we’ve done with other Generation 2 Tanks in the past few months. This discount seems to have been diminishing recently, and eventually discounts will be removed from the store with little or no notice.

In addition to those discounts, all purchases in $GALA, ETH or credit card will receive a further 5% off their purchase.

Fire Artillery

Fire Artillery is pretty self explanatory. It’s right there in the name.

Launch long-range, arcing incendiaries that detonate, damaging enemies and erupting into a circle of flames. As long as enemies stand in your flames, they’ll continue taking damage.

While the flames may not slow the enemy down like the Brambler, Fire Artillery has a bigger radius than any other artillery Weapon and its effect lasts nearly 20% longer than Repair Artillery or Brambler! Your opponents won’t be able to stand the heat. Watch them scatter in fear.

With its damage over time effect, large area and long duration, Fire Artillery is excellent at controlling the battlefield. The enemy will move where the flames make them move… or they’ll melt. Their choice.

Fletcher

Fletcher is a solid medium Body that hasn’t sacrificed all of its Speed for heavier Armor plating. It can take a few hits, but it’s also not going to get left in the dust by every competitor it encounters.

This is the perfect complement to Fire Artillery, since your role will typically be consistent and constant harassment of opponents who stay back. Fletcher isn’t too clunky to maneuver, but has enough Armor and Energy to hold its ground if an enemy starts to put pressure on it.

Many Pilots are very interested in Bodies at the extremes — either pure bulk or little glass cannon. Don’t write off medium Bodies like Fletcher though. Being able to adapt to different challenges in each match is the greatest strength of any Pilot, and a Body featuring the best of both worlds is often ideal for that kind of versatility.

Antlers

The Antlers aren’t super high-tech. What did you expect — they’re antlers!

These were designed as a pure representation of the power of nature. Nature brings life and order, but it also destroys. Antlers will boost your power with elemental damage to make you a true force of nature.

Flame On Pilots!

The transfabrication lines of the Planetary Union still have tons of surprises coming up, but it’s not likely that Pilots will see anything like The Stag for quite a while.

The Tiger will soon be the latest Hero Tank in the arena. Let’s look at some of the classic Heroes that came before it.

Tiger is the latest Tank slated to enter garages across the Planetary Union. This is the first Hero Tank to be released since December, so we thought it would be a great time to look back at some of the mightiest arena heroes that came before Tiger.

While the technology in the arena is always moving forward, some of the firepower from the past is irreplaceable in its strategic benefit to a Pilot. Hero Tanks frequently have special ways of dominating opponents that you just can’t find anywhere else!

Heroes, We Salute You

Hero Tanks are powerful, pre-built combos that come complete with Weapon, Body and Skin. Each Part can be used and upgraded independent of the others, but they typically synergize together in a unique build. All three parts together make up a Hero Tank NFT, and they always are bought, sold or transferred as a package deal. The Body and Weapon on a Hero Tank are totally independent parts though, so one item in your inventory essentially gets you two pools of potential VP gain every day.

Each Hero Tank combo is arguably just a little overpowered in its own way. Favorites like the Lava Tank, Whaleshark and Alpha Executioner are commonly cited as some of the most powerful Tanks around.

The last Hero Tanks released were back in Generation 1. In December of 2022, Pilots first got their chance to own the T-Rex. This powerful combo consists of the Rex Body and the T-Ray Weapon. No other Weapon can fire blasts of concentrated antimatter through walls.

Many Pilots have found that the T-Rex has a bit of a learning curve associated with it, but those who learn to Pilot it well are feared throughout the Earthen cluster.

Many Pilots around today also have felt the terror of The Tortoise up close and personal. These hulking boomerang blade shooters were first released in 2022.

The Tortoise is a bulky Body that’s slow but steady. Blade Spinner is the signature Weapon from this combo, and it can be charged up to fire whatever distance you want (up to some insane range). On reaching its destination, it will turn around and return to you. Many Pilots can have trouble making precise shots with it early on, but once it’s second nature you will be a force to be reckoned with against any opponent.

Before all that, Snoop’s Bumpin’ Lowrider hit the arena in February of ’22. In addition to making you feel like you were right there with Snoop sippin on gin and juice, this combo rolls over opponents with the unparalleled bass coming from its roof-mounted subwoofer.

This Hero Tank combo is made up of Snoop’s Bumpin’ Lowrider and the Beat Blaster Weapon. Again, many Pilots find that the lowrider style of this high-energy Body can be tough to get used to… but it’s very rewarding for those that perfect playing with it. The Beat Blaster Weapon lays down a massive damage cadence, and can momentarily stun opposing Tanks. This totally unique advantage isn’t present in any other Weapon.

A Tradition of Heroism

Hero Tanks may not come around often, but they offer a Pilot unique strategies and the added convenience of getting a complete Tank Combo in one package from the store. Plus, they generally have wickedly cool themes.

A walk down memory lane quickly shows that some of the most powerful Tanks found in the arena are older Heroes, even as new technologies rise up around them.

Every Hero Tank has some special twist that Pilots can use to their strategic advantage. Whether this be the ice trails from Santa’s Slay or the homing torpedoes from the WhaleShark, Hero Tanks always have some extra functionality that may take awhile to adjust to… but can be extremely useful once you get good with it.

Many Hero Tanks are exceedingly rare, but still make their impact on the arena every day. Lava Tanks are notoriously one of the most versatile competitors in the arena, and were among the first Tanks ever unveiled– only a handful exist!

Likewise, the feared Alpha Executioner has ordinance found nowhere else in the arena. True, it doesn’t have a slow or a stun like some other Hero Tanks, but it does fire quick missiles that detonate in an area. The firing pattern can be hard to get used to, but if you use the AoE splash at the end to your advantage it is definitely deadly.

The Tiger Unleashed

This brings us to today… when the Tiger Tank is ready for battle. This new Hero Tank offers absolutely unique ways of dominating the competition, just like its predecessors. The Tiger Body has medium stats for maximum adaptability during the hunt. The Ripper Weapon fires like a straightforward, linear Weapon… but then splits into 3 sub-projectiles to rip apart your opponents.

Pilots will have to learn the pace of this new Tank to use it to its full potential. Distance from your opponents and timing could be the difference between hitting with one projectile or laying into their whole team with split bullets. A skilled Tiger Pilot may find enemies hiding just behind cover aren’t as safe as they think… Ripper can cut that corner if fired correctly.

With the Tiger Tank joining such an illustrious group of Heroes, we’re excited to see how it transforms and pushes the meta of arena combat forward. Like all Hero Tanks before it, we’re sure we’ll see this combo’s unique identity being used in creative ways as Pilots practice how to craft strategies around it.

Planetary Union engineers have designed this new Tank to rival the other bad boys at the top of the food chain. The arena is no stranger to Tanks based off of ancient mythical animals from Earth’s past, but the Tiger Tank brings an entirely new level of deadliness into every match it enters.

The Roar of a Champion

The Tiger has been manufactured as a ready made combo, capable of ruining its prey’s day without any further modifications. That’s not to say the garage tinkerers out there can’t mix and match some other parts in to create exciting new combos with the Tiger’s hardware!

The Tiger Tank is a Hero Tank combo, which means that it is a package deal providing the Ripper Weapon, the Tiger Body and Stripes Skin. All three of these parts will only show up as one item in your inventory if you grab a Tiger Tank, but you’ll be able to use all three parts freely in your Garage!

Sale Details

The Tiger Tank sale will begin on Wednesday, July 5th at noon PT. At this time, half of the available supply will be released onto The Spider Tanks Store. The second portion of the supply will be released at 8pm PT the same day.

Because Tiger Tank is a Hero Tank combo, each Part can not be purchased separately. Having a Tiger Tank in your inventory will get you all three Parts playable in your Garage — Tiger, Ripper and Stripes.

The Tiger Body

The Tiger Body can be deceptively cute to an unwary opponent. Likewise, its stats can also seem deceptively average. Tiger believes in a balanced pursuit, so this Body prioritizes Energy, Speed and Health equally.

To less veteran Pilots, the middle of the road may seem undesirable. Often in the arena, however, extremes can lump you into one play style and limit your adaptability. With Tiger’s balanced and measured stats, you’re always ready to pounce… no matter the prey.

With Tiger’s signature Ripper Weapon, the staying power of a solid medium tank combined with its reliable pace creates more opportunities for increased carnage.

Ripper

This cat has got serious claws.

Ripper fires a single projectile a short distance. If the projectile has not collided with an object or an opponent by the time it reaches its destination, it will split into three projectiles. These projectiles will spread out from where they split for another short distance.

With this unique firing pattern, this Weapon is ready to rip apart enemy Tanks… particularly when it approaches multiple Tanks together! Hitting an enemy with the first projectile, however, will make you miss out on the buckshot of your bullets splitting. This means positioning is extremely important when using Ripper.

While this Weapon may at first seem similar to Weapons like Shotgun or Cannon, skilled Pilots will quickly realize the advantages of being able to fire splitting projectiles around obstructions and into heavy cover.

Like Tiger, Ripper is adaptable. You’re capable of assaulting single targets or laying down zone control with a blast pattern that is very forgiving of your accuracy. You’re also able to act as a devastating bunker buster, unleashing vicious, primal assaults on the Control Point or enemy Payload.

The Hunt Is On

Get ready to make the competition sleep with the fishes — The Wiseguy is here.

It is that time again for new Tank Parts to make their debut in the arena, and The Wiseguy is ready. This made man of a combo was engineered by Planetary Union scientists with a fairly straightforward design… who needs tricks and shenanigans with a gun this serious though?

This time, however, many players have gotten an early sneak peek of some of The Wiseguy build in action. We’re of course talking about Jet and Triple Threat. Last year, all critical infrastructure personnel and planetary representatives received a free, Common version of this Tank. These rudimentary models have finally been perfected for mass production across the Planetary Union!

Sale Details

As with our most recent sales, we will be releasing the supply for this sale in two waves. We hope this gives Pilots across the world more opportunity to grab one of these new Tank Parts at a time that’s convenient for them.

The first of these waves will begin tomorrow- Wednesday, June 14th at 12pm PT. Half of the supply of each Part will be available at this time in the Spider Tanks Store (rounded up in the case there is a remainder).

The second wave begins at 8pm PT the same day. At this time, the other half of the supply will become available. In the case that a Part is not sold out, new supply will be added to the existing supply.

As with our last sale, these Parts will enter the store with a special percentage price reduction applied. These discounted prices will be discontinued or altered with little or no notice, so get them while they last if you want The Wiseguy on your side in the arena.

These discounts were applied to get more Tanks in more Pilots hands and to celebrate the beginnings of the second generation of Tank Parts. Attentive Pilots will notice, however, that discounts applied to new Parts have generally been decreasing as Generation 2 advances.

Triple Threat

Triple Threat sure feels like it poses more than three threats when you’re up against it. This 3-barreled Weapon is able to launch lead at your opponents with dizzying speed. This makes it the perfect Weapon for hit and run tactics and providing bursts of covering fire.

Many Pilots may struggle with firing Triple Threat accurately at first, but once you dial in your marksmanship, it can do massive damage to an enemy if you can hit with every bullet.

Jet

Jet hovers above the battlefield, ready for anything that comes at it. Seriously, Jet is the height of adaptability. This medium Body is fairly well balanced in Armor and Speed, but has a huge reserve of Energy to use more Abilities.

This gives you the luxury of being able to choose how you specialize during a match. With Energy to spare, you can decide to grab Abilities that ramp up your survivability, quickness or your deadliness.

Heatseeker

Heatseeker is dangerous. Bursting with Energy, this Skin does provide a modicum of protection from incoming damage, but its main advantage is a sizable boost to killing power.

Pilots will find their Tank’s Energy heavily increased while using Heatseeker, and their Weapons will release untold chaos the next time they go to the mattresses.

Gangster Hat

You looking at me? Well now everybody will be looking at you, because your hat just screams well-connected and well-armed!

The Gangster hat is your guardian angel out here on these mean streets. It offers you far more protection than one would generally expect a hat to offer, but this is a really cool hat.

Happy Battling

With the recent beginning of Season 1 in the arena, we hope everyone’s climb up the ladder is going well. Hopefully these new Tank Parts help the fight. There’s nothing like a little rapid fire to blow up the competition.
