Town Star Basketball Courts- in Store Now

Last week, Gala Games teamed up with Under Armour and Curry Brand to change the game for GOOD with a charity NFT drop. This drop was special, designed to commemorate the greatest moment yet for legendary point guard Steph Curry as he broke the 3pt record on December 14th with his 2974th shot.

Curry Brand created a digital replica of the incredible Curry Flow 9, the shoe Steph was wearing when he broke the record. They made it into an NFT and created 2974 editions, complete with rarity drops and in-game utility in multiple metaverses. Check out our blog post about it HERE.

Now Gala Games is taking it a step further with the release of the first Town Star Half Courts, fully playable for TSP2E rewards!

Claim your NFT

Anyone who owned a Genesis Curry Flow NFT during the snapshot on December 26th at 8pm EST became eligible to claim its counterpart in the Gala Games Ecosystem: The Gala Games Genesis Curry Flow.

Through a connected Metamask wallet on 2974.Currybrand.com, collectors are now able to claim the Gala Games version of the shoe directly to their Gala Games wallet or any Ethereum Metamask wallet.

The Genesis Curry Flow NFT also has claimable counterparts in The Sandbox, Decentraland and Rumble Kong League, but we’re here to talk Gala Games. We’ve got basketball courts, bonuses, and of course, Town Star Play-to-Earn rewards. 😎🏀

Basketball Court Sale

Basketball Courts are now on sale in the Gala Games store. They are available while supplies last and in multiple rarities.

These Basketball Courts are not designed to offer any boost to Town Star gameplay other than play-to-earn rewards. Instead, they were created to fit together with the Genesis Curry Flow. Neither the Court or the Genesis Curry Flow is required for the other to earn, but when you’re able to collect 2 (Half)Courts and a Genesis Curry Flow (all of the same rarity), you’ll unlock the FULL COURT PRESS BONUS!

Full Court Press Bonus

2 Half Courts + Genesis Curry Flow all of the same rarity = An additional fixed amount of daily TOWN rewards that depends on the rarity of Full Court Press you have unlocked.

Greater Rarity = Greater Rewards

Keep in mind that the Basketball Courts come in different rarities. As usual with Gala Games, each rarity can bring in a higher daily TOWN reward when you complete your Daily Challenge in Town Star.

There are 5 rarities of Half Courts that correspond to the 5 different rarity drops of Genesis Curry Flows: The Lab (Common), Warp (Uncommon), Flow (Rare), Broken History (Epic), and Unanimous (Legendary).

Lolli & Pop’s — The Candy Shop with Class

Lolli & Pop’s — The Candy Shop with Class

Happy holidays, Town Stars! You’ve had a few weeks to play around with the new crafting and the new in-game Candy Shop building. Now you’re even testing your confectionary skills on our Candy Cane Meta, in which Stars are nerfed for all high-tier produced goods except Candy Canes!

We managed to get through Galaverse without leaking this one, but it required a whole team of guards to keep Todd from satisfying the community’s cries of “Wen leak?!”

Now, like a breath of fresh air, we’re thrilled to announce and launch the sale of Lolli & Pop’s Shop, the first souped-up NFT version of a Town Star production building!

Lolli is already a powerhouse of candy production on her own, especially with the reduced crafting requirements that come with the current Candy Cane Meta. Throw her new companion, Pop, and his hot wheels into the mix and the result is an unstoppable candy making force with the potential to ensure your local Town Star dentist’s business for many years to come!

Why NFT?

Everyone has access to the standard in-game Candy Shop. Simply pay the $150k of in-game money and place it in your town as long as you meet the building requirements.

The standard in-game Candy Shop has a relatively slow production time, and the main advantage you’ll get from using an NFT version is in the speed.

Production Speed

Legendary NFT — 100% boost to production speed

Wages

The greater the rarity on the Lolli & Pops NFT, the lower the wage that must be paid to the operators, Lolli and Pop. The Legendary shop is such an exquisite facility that both are willing to work there for free, simply for the experience.

Standard in-game — $150 per minute

Uncommon NFT — $100 per minute

Rare NFT — $50 per minute

Legendary NFT —No cost at all!

Unit Speed

When so many ingredients are being collected for a craft, unit speed is very important. This is when it pays to have a car. When Pop is in a good mood, he tears around town even faster, so naturally he really flies in and out of the Legendary shop!

Standard in-game — standard Lolli foot speed

Uncommon NFT — “Sunday driver” — 50% faster than Lolli foot speed

Rare NFT — “Wild and Free” — 2x Lolli foot speed

Legendary NFT — “Reckless Abandon” — 3x Lolli foot speed

Moar Benefits

In addition to all the above and the general awesomeness of seeing a sleek wind-up car cruising around your town, there are several more things to consider about actually owning your production building.

Place it for Free

This is a huge bonus (and head start in competition) when you consider that the standard in-game unit costs $150,000 to build. Being able to place it right off the bat and start making candy as soon as you can make sugar will almost always give you a big advantage in either Weekly Competition or your Daily Challenge. Plus, you can move it around and rearrange as often as you’d like.

Sell it if You Want

This is the backbone of our mission of empowerment at Gala Games, and it’s true of every NFT we sell. You actually own it, and that means that you can do what you want with it. Play with it for rewards, give it to a friend, or sell it on the secondary market! Soon, with the Town Market Board, you’ll even be able to lend it to other players for a passive share in their rewards!

Earn Daily TOWN Rewards

You’ll have to wait and see for yourself exactly what the rewards are, but like all Town Star playable NFTs, the Lolli & Pop’s Shop will be eligible for daily TOWN rewards. As long as you have some Gala Power and complete your Daily Challenge, you can collect rewards daily in Town Star Play-to-Earn!

The Sale

Lolli & Pop’s Shop is available now while supplies last in the Town Star store. Remember that all our releases use an increasing price tier structure, meaning the earlier you buy, the more you save!

Price tiers are released 10% of the total supply at a time, and each tier is priced higher than the last. Don’t worry if you see a sign that says “SOLD OUT.” Chances are it’s only sold out at the current price tier. Just check back later and you’ll usually see more in stock!

There’s plenty more where this came from! Check out the recent interview with Town Star Game Director T. Elliot Cannon from -into the galaverse Live!

Community Art Project — Town Star Winter

Community Art Project — Town Star Winter

It’s time to have some good old fashioned creative fun, Town Stars!

We’re kicking off a special Town Star Winter Community Art Contest. Submissions will be accepted for the next two weeks in a special (temporary) new Discord channel — #Town-Star-Winter-Art-Project.

Old Fashioned is Encouraged

While we absolutely love digital art, there’s just something magical about picking up a pencil and paper, or designing and coloring a masterpiece with crayons or markers. You may want to cross-stitch or knit something. Maybe you are a sculptor. Anything that you can photograph is just fine!

Cameras are everywhere. We hope you can use this opportunity to create some physical and memorable that you will treasure forever. It will serve as a reminder of an extremely successful year’s end as a member of the Gala Games ecosystem, and it will give you an excuse to step away from the screens for a few minutes to recapture the childlike sense of creativity that is so important to us as a community and company.

A Word from the Director

“I was really excited to hear this was happening as I think Town Star is such an endearing world — and combining that with Christmas seems like a match made in heaven. I really can’t wait to see what y’all come up with! I’ll be watching that Discord channel closely.”

Warren Marshall, Town Star Art Director

Creation is Creation’s Prize

There will not be any official prizes in this contest. We are simply interested in our amazing community showing off its creativity with some Town Star winter art. There will be plenty of other times to win and earn in this ecosystem. In fact, we’re experts at creating such opportunities. This time, just have fun and create something to be shared. Our “finalists” or “winners” will be proudly shared with our wider community via social media and blog posts.

We can hardly wait to see the wonders you create. Hopefully, some members of the Gala Games team (now over 150 strong) will join in the fun as well!

What are you waiting for? Go create some art. Once it’s polished and ready to share with the world, pop it into the #Town-Star-Winter-Art Discord channel so everyone can see what you did!

We have an incredibly supportive community: The best in the entire crypto world. Let’s let our community members experience that loving support first hand for a change as they drink up compliments from their peers for the amazing art they’ve created. No judgement. Just congratulations. Thanks for being here.

Winter in Town Star

Winter in Town Star

You may have noticed that a light snow has begun to fall in your Town Star towns… Welcome to Town Star Winter!

Here you’ll find all the charm and coziness of a real winter wonderland, with none of the snow shoveling, freezing nights, power outages or in-law related nightmares. We aim to please.

Lolli and her Candy Canes

We hope you’ve all been enjoying Lolli, the newest addition to the diverse cast of Town Star characters, and her cute little Candy Shop. It’s no accident that Candy Canes are the very first craft available for that building, and you’ll probably see a Candy Cane related meta adjustment very soon, just in time for the holidays!

Here’s a tasty little teaser for you… If Lolli produces Candy Canes in her shop around Christmas, what kind of new delicious delicacies do you think she’ll craft later on through the year?

There are indeed plans for new candy crafts to hit the scene in 2022! After all, candy is all about variety. We weren’t expecting to get through the whole year with a Candy Shop that crafts only Candy Canes. What would the children think?

Community Art Project Coming Soon

Look for more details later this week on a Town Star Winter Community Art Project.

With the recent success of the creative community activities leading up to yesterday’s Mirandus VOX drop, we’ve decided to put out a community call for Town Star Winter art. This should be a fun excuse to make yourself a cup of hot cocoa and sit down with some paper and your favorite art medium (colored pencils, markers, crayons, pencil, etc.). That’s right people. Memes won’t cut it this time!

’Tis the Season

In this season of generosity and introspection, the Town Star team would like to remind you all how grateful we are for your love and support. Gala Games is gaining worldwide traction all the time and receiving greater attention every single day.

Without the unceasing devotion of our community, especially players of our flagship game, Town Star, we would not have enjoyed this level of prosperity and success. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We hope you are feeling truly empowered by the paradigm shift we are creating together with own-your-experience and play-to-earn gaming. Our holiday wish is that your sense of childlike play has been renewed and rejuvenated, and we can hardly wait to see what wonders 2022 will bring.

We’ll see some of you live in Las Vegas this weekend for -into the galaverse, and hopefully the rest of you will watch the live stream on Monday, December 13th!

Lolli’s Calling

Lolli’s Calling

Have you ever felt that you were destined to be something or do something? I have. Ever since I was a little girl, I have known my path, and it was coated in a sugary glaze and dipped in chocolate. My name is Lolli, and candy is my life.

For me, the most magical things in the world have always been the most delicious ones. The taffies, the gummies, the truffles, the peppermints, the bonbons and the jelly beans. You can lose yourself in the bright colors, escape reality with the transcendent flavors, and bring joy to anyone at any time with the warm satisfaction of sharing.

It was in the fourth grade that I found my entrepreneurial calling, and it brought me closer to the world of candy than I ever thought possible. We used to have the best hot lunches at school, made from scratch with hot gravy, fresh dinner rolls and an extraordinary variety of well-rounded meals. Going through the lunch line and collecting that familiar plastic tray was the best part of every school day.

When my fourth grade year started, I discovered that I wasn’t enrolled in the hot lunch program. Instead of looking forward to a wonderful hot lunch of sloppy joes, goulash or meatloaf, I was sent to school with a pathetic and crumpled brown paper bag containing an apple, a soda and a plastic-wrapped sandwich that was already soggy (from the soda’s condensation).

My mom told me the family was able to cut some serious costs by sending me with a bagged lunch, but that didn’t help in the slightest with my suffering. Day after day I had to smell the enchanting aromas of pork chops, Salisbury steaks and mashed potatoes as I choked down my white bread sandwiches. Times were tough.

Before long it was time for my favorite holiday, Halloween. With my bright blue hair, I didn’t need to do much in the way of costumes. I usually just slapped a ninja mask around my eyes and called myself Lolli the Daring. I took trick-or-treating very seriously, but I was mainly there for the treats. It was all about CPH (candy per hour). I went with a few trusted friends and started door-to-door as early as I could. My secret was drop-offs. If no one knew how much candy I was hoarding, then everyone would give me more. Fourth grade year I broke all my records by collecting what amounted to about two full garbage bags of candy.

It was Dad who gave me the idea to take the candy to school. One morning after Mom had packed my lunch, he tossed in a lollipop and a couple Jolly Ranchers, winked at me, and quietly said “Don’t tell your mother.”

“Candy at school”, I thought to myself in the back of the minivan. “It just might work.”

Later that day, I sat in the cafeteria with a sour look on my face and a bologna sandwich in my hands that I had no interest in eating. Finally I slapped the sandwich down and retrieved one of the hard candies Dad had dropped into the bag. All eyes around me immediately grew wide in fascination, as if they too had never before considered the possibilities of candy in school.

Just before I finished unwrapping the candy, a boy a few seats down spoke up. “I’ll give you one of my hot rolls for your Jolly Rancher.” I looked up slowly, trying to contain the size of my grin. I was a natural negotiator.

“Both your hot rolls, and you’ve got yourself a deal,” I finally responded with narrowed eyes. Without a moment’s hesitation, he leaned out and handed over both of his hot rolls. I gave him the half unwrapped Jolly Rancher as the exquisite smell of yeast roll filled my nostrils. Then I remembered the huge stash of Halloween candy hidden under my bed at home.

My little business escalated quickly. First it was hot rolls, then entrees, and eventually full trays. At some point before winter break, kids started offering me money for the candy. I saved it for future expansion.

Eventually my candy supply ran out, and I had to think about keeping my clientele satisfied. That’s when I took the $83 I had saved and rode my bike to the hobby store, where I purchased my very first candy-making supplies. A confectionary legend was born and the rest is history.
