Today we focus on another lead of the Community Team that you’ve surely seen around Gala Games before. Learn more about the Primarch you know as Deathlicious!

Primarchs of the Crimson Sun

The Primarchs of the Crimson Sun are always working hard every day to ensure that Gala Games is the best web3 community out there! As our community has grown massively over a short time, no one should take for granted the amazing dedication that this team displays as the masses of Galaxians swell. It is their efforts that ensure that our community is always a wonderful place for people from all walks of life to enjoy.

We’ve already explored many of the Primarchs, but today we’ll focus on another pillar of our elite customer support squad who is tirelessly working for the community whether it’s behind the scenes or out in the open.

Today we spotlight James– better known around Discord as Deathlicious!

What do you do at Gala Games?

I’m a Customer Support Lead. I’ve got a merry band of Customer Support extraordinaires that I love working with every day to identify trends and resolve issues for our community.

Previous experience that you bring to Gala Games

I’ve got a degree in Economics and Financial Accounting but all of my professional experience is actually in Information Technology. I’ve worked for the DoD in a few different roles and capacities and I feel like a lot of those experiences have translated quite well into my role here at Gala Games.

Why did you pick your Galaxian D&D title?

I like to think of myself as a bit of a Barbarian. I enjoy the thrill of competition (friendly of course) and challenges that I can use to focus on tackling problems. The idea of using this focus to adapt and deal massive amounts of deeps is something I can totally embody. In all honesty, Barbarians are obviously the coolest class in D&D.

What are your favorite games?

One of my favorite games that I still play to this day is League of Legends. It’s a game that I’ve played since 2009 and it’s something that I can always pick up and have some fun with. In 2016, I actually managed to achieve Challenger rank and I even received some physical rewards for finishing out the season there. Some of you who are familiar with the game may hate me for this, but I’m a one trick pony player and I love playing Nocturne.

There are many other games that I would consider to be a favorite as well, but just to name a few: Warcraft III, Diablo 2, Final Fantasy VII, Destiny 1/2, and the Fallout series come to mind. I’ll always have a distinct nostalgic feeling and love for Warcraft III as I spent an absolute ton of time playing the various custom maps. Sometimes I’ll hop in there just to enjoy those great maps.

These days I tend to play a wide variety of games but lately I’ve been enjoying some Dying Light 2, Risk of Rain 2 and Elden Ring.

Favorite music?

I can listen to almost any genre of music and enjoy it. But if I’m driving somewhere, I’ll always put on a playlist of some classic rock music which includes artists like AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, KISS, Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, Twisted Sister, Queen, and a whole bunch of others.

Favorite food?

When it comes to food, I love a good burger or steak. As a guy who grew up in California, I could eat In-N-Out pretty much every day and never regret it. I love me a good 4×4 with fresh onions.

Any interesting hobbies?

My favorite hobbies and interests are mostly tech related these days. In particular, I have a hankering for computer hardware and peripherals. I love keeping up to date on the latest hardware and gear that hits the market. I’ve spent more than my fair share of money when it comes to mice and keyboards, that’s for sure.

For any of you keyboard enthusiasts out there, my latest build is a YMDK Melody 96 with Durock V2 Stabilizers and lubed/filmed Gateron Ink Black V2 switches. I can hit a max of 157 wpm on monkeytype.com when I’m equipped with this bad boy. I’ve also got this affinity for Small Form Factor PCs that I’m looking to indulge more in the future and I’ve recently picked up a 3080ti for that sweet gaming performance.

That’s 158, not 157 James!

Outside of those things, I like to spend time with my beautiful wife and two kids. It’s always a good time when we sit down to watch a movie or some TV shows.

Ideal pizza date?

When it comes to pizza, one particular pizza shop comes to mind and it’s for their absolutely delicious pizza that has “tiger shrimp, cilantro, and jalapeno pesto in white sauce, with diced tomatoes”. Get me one of those and a good movie and we’ve got ourselves an ideal date.

Which Spider Tanks hat bests describes you?

The sunny-side egg in a pan speaks deeply to me. I’m a lover of eggs and in particular, a good sunny-side up egg with a runny yolk is just amazing.

True facts.

We appreciate James volunteering some time to get to know the community a little better. We hope that learning a little about what’s beneath the red name was fun for all of you, and hopefully flexing cyborg-speed typing skills didn’t make anyone feel too insignificant.

It’s always a pleasure to spotlight the Primarchs of the Crimson Sun. In our next installment, we’ll zoom in on our one remaining Customer Support Lead, before we blast off into another part of the Galasphere.

Thanks to every single one of you for being a wonderful part of this community!
