Echoes of Empire wasn’t going to miss out on the Mayhem! May is wrapping up, but straight out of the space docks at Ion Games comes yet another free NFT for EoE claim holders.

As one of the final giveaways and drops of Gala Games’ outstanding May Mayhem event, anyone holding an Echoes of Empire Land Claim will be eligible for a free Celestial Upgrade NFT. As usual, this is all based on the April 29th snapshot and a free NFT has dropped into every wallet that held a Celestial Claim at that time.

This NFT will speed your progression and give you a stronger starting position as you journey into the universe. A higher-level base means being able to create stronger ships and fleets immediately, while also opening options for leveling up other home base features.

The First Echo

As mentioned in our Fireside Chat last week, Echoes of Empire will be playable for the first time at Galaverse! A tremendous amount of effort has been put into preparing this build for the event, and ensuring that visitors at Galaverse can see an authentic overview of the game in action. While some features will be disabled during this test, it is designed to guide players through the basic game loop and get everyone acquainted with the game.

During the test, you will be able to experience basic exploration and discovery. Players can mine, upgrade, or create and manage fleets and probes. We have designed the demo to be convention friendly, with the goal of allowing players to see as much as they can during a short period of time playing.

Echoes of Empire has come a long way in development, and we can’t wait for the Gala Games community to get their hands on it and see what we’ve created! This first playable demo is a huge milestone, but we’re still focusing on getting everything ready for a full release as soon as possible.

Get ready to send your VOX on adventures in VOX Odyssey!

At the heart of every VOX is a thirst for adventure. VOX desire to play, grow and explore. Every VOX (even those still in their boxes) recently received an Adventure Pack to prepare them for the upcoming fun experiences in VOX Odyssey.

What is an Adventure Pack?

Every brave soul that goes on an adventure in VOX Odyssey deserves an Adventure Pack to set them up on their journey. These were a surprise drop to every single VOX during May Mayhem– no matter whether they were in ETH or Gala Games wallets. These are especially to reward owners for being part of the VOX community and set them up on their VOX Odyssey adventures.

There are 18 different types of boxes, ranging from Common all the way to Ancient, and each contains a mix of resources inside them. A Common Pack contains one resource and an Ancient Pack is able to hold five. These range all the way from practical resources like stone, to dragon scales that vibrate with mysterious energy. Regardless of what’s inside your Adventure Pack, all resources are handy to have.

What resources are in the Packs?

Adventure Packs can contain any of the following resources:

• Wood
• Stone
• Cloth
• Metal
• Food
• Herbs
• Oil
• Dragon Scale (special item only found in Ancient tier boxes)
• Jar of Pickles (special item only found in Ancient tier boxes)
• Golden Egg (special item only found in Ancient tier boxes)

You can either let the contents of your Adventure Pack be a surprise to you, or you can take a peek at the metadata, which can easily be viewed on OpenSea.*

Note: VOX Adventure Packs are currently listed as part of the Town Star collection on OpenSea.

You may also want to collect more Adventure Packs that suit your VOX before VOX Odyssey starts. For example, a lumberjack VOX is already pretty good at chopping wood — so an Adventure Pack with metal, cloth or food is probably what they need more.

Wait, What is VOX Odyssey?

VOX Odyssey is a text-based choose-your-own-adventure game playable in Discord. Explore the world with your VOX!

Play as a VOX character, go on adventures, perform tasks to collect resources and enjoy unique encounters. Your experiences in the game will be based on your specific VOX, your choices, and a roll of the dice.

Once you have your resources, what will you do? Hoard them for VOXverse? Gift them to an NPC? Craft the coolest items? Contribute to a community project?

Every choice in VOX Odyssey matters. All the resources you gather, the social interactions you have, the skills you level up and the NPCs you meet, defeat or charm all port over to VOXverse, the epic metaverse being developed by Will Wright, creator of The Sims.

How can I use Adventure Packs in VOX Odyssey?

When VOX Odyssey launches in July, you will be able to send your Adventure Pack to a specific burn wallet. The VOX site and the game will then update your inventory with the resources in that pack. From there, you can trade in the game, craft items and build things collectively with your fellow VOX collectors. More detailed instructions will come closer to July to ensure that you can make the most of your resources as quickly as possible.

The snapshot took place across all Gala Games account wallets and also all ETH wallets at different times for each VOX series:

A new sci-fi 4x strategy game is up for approval by the Founder’s Node Ecosystem.

As always at Gala Games, we’re keeping our eyes peeled for the finest, freshest games out there. Today we’re here to say we’ve found a game that we think will be perfect for the Gala Games community. Playing on the themes of sci-fi survival and reconstruction, this game features in depth 4X/Strategy with PvE and PvP elements.

We are currently only able to refer to this project by the name “Project Saturn”, but will be able to share much more at Galaverse in Malta. It is our sincerest belief that “Project Saturn” would be an incredible addition to the Gala Games Ecosystem, and we are proud to present “Project Saturn” as the next game for your consideration!

In “Project Saturn”, you will control ships, heroes, and bases across the stars. Protect yourself against the assaults of your enemies, and expand to increase throughout the splintered factions that make up the scattered remains of the human race.

“Project Saturn” takes place in long seasonal cycles (likely 3–6 months). Each season, players will have to rebuild their war-torn base, cooperate with others to expand their reach and technology, then rise to reclaim their land and repel their enemies!

Players will be able to compete on both Alliance and Individual leaderboards each season. Each season represents a chance to experiment with new factions and strategies and push your way to the top of the leaderboard.

Chainlink’s Verifiable Random Function will be used by Gala Games to ensure fun and fair gameplay.

We’re excited to announce that Gala Games has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Ethereum mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a tamper-proof and verifiable random number generator (RNG) that can help power truly random VOX drops and item distribution from Snoop Stash Boxes. Additionally, as the Gala Games Ecosystem and metaverse accelerates, Chainlink VRF acts as a future-proof source of randomness needed for all RNG-based functions — giving users high assurances that Gala Games is committed to creating fun and fair gameplay.

Gala Games aims to build an Ecosystem of AAA games that can bring blockchain-based Web3 games to the mainstream. Our core philosophy can be boiled down to three essential elements:

In order to build a true player-owned Ecosystem, we needed access to a verifiable random number generator that could help power the fair distribution of in-game rewards. Whether in loot boxes or other events that require randomness such as dungeon drops or player performance rewards, a verifiable RNG gives users confidence that the game they’re playing is fair and treats all players equally.

The ultimate solution to this problem comes in the form of Chainlink VRF, which works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. Gala Games smart contracts will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This helps provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that each randomness-needing game that uses Chainlink VRF for randomness is provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the Gala Games team.
