By now you’ve probably heard of Lolli, the blue-haired candy queen who’ll soon confectioneer her way into your hearts and towns. Look for more of her background coming up later this week, including the little story about how she decided to get into the candy business in the first place.
As you may have guessed, Lolli is the new character who will enter town tomorrow (November 30th) with the start of the new Weekly Competition. She’s the worker of a brand new building called The Candy Shop. Read on for more details on how you can incorporate this sweetness into your town.
The Candy Shop
It’s a new building for the crafting of high tier sugary goods that will fetch a high price and a high Star value. This building will be accessible to everyone in the game as a standard in-game production building, but it will be costly.
We’re starting off simple with the Candy Shop, with a single craft available. In honor of the upcoming holiday season, we have chosen Candy Canes as the original Candy Shop product. Here’s what will go into each unit of Candy that is produced…
10 Units of Sugar
6 Units of Energy
4 Units of Peppermint
Peppermint? Yep, you read that right. With the Candy Shop, we’re not just adding a new crafted good. We’re adding a whole new crafting tree, starting with a new type of farming field.
The Peppermint Field will require 3 units of Water and 1 Wood for each unit of Peppermint produced. Lumberjacks are clumsy and they may trample the crops, so only Farmers can deliver Wood to your Peppermint Fields.
How it will Work
We want you to experiment with the new building on your own, so we won’t tell you everything. We will give you a few nice hints, pointers and teasers though.
Candy Canes will be stored in the Storehouse.
Candy Canes are only the first craft of the Candy shop.
Later on, Lolli may decide to bring a friend.
Making a unit of Candy Canes takes 4 minutes.
Selling a load of Candy Canes will bring in $340,000.
Back to Basics
As we introduce a new type of craft, we’re returning Town Star to the standard meta, reverting all changes that resulted from Elevating Energy over the last few weeks back to their original values.
Our advice is to use this time to prepare your best candy game! We wouldn’t throw an entirely new craft into the mix without some incoming plans for shaking up the game!
Good luck on all your Candy Cane builds! Lolli can’t wait to meet the people of your towns!
The second round of Echoes of Empire’s Celestial Claim Land Presale is now live in the Gala Games store!
As Valentina Barbaro’s epic space adventure continues, she finds herself in new Star Clusters of the galaxy. Most recently, she has arrived in THE PALE, at a place called Serenity’s Pyre, to get the scoop on a mysterious transmission recovered at SIGIS STATION in Part 7.
Celestial Claims Now Available
The Pale’s Celestial Claims are now available in limited supply, but to get the best prices on these stars, planets, moons and habitable asteroids, you’ll need to act quickly.
Unlike the Claims that were sold in last week’s Ember’s Grace presale, all Celestial Claims for The Pale will be priced in increasing tiers. As more sell, the price of the remaining Claims will increase. If you plan to make a grab for one of these unique Celestial Claims, do it quickly. Hesitating could prove costly for you!
Limited Time Sale
In addition to the increasing price tier structure, Celestial Claims will only be available for a limited time (or until they sell out). Ember’s Grace was in the store for exactly 48 hours, but the first 15 minutes of the presale was enough time for all 1000 Uncommon Celestial Claims to sell out.
Remember, once Claims for a specific Cluster leave the store, they will not be available again until Valentina returns to that Cluster. Then when they do return, they will have a higher price.
Valentina preferred to trade in rare art or perhaps even rarer vintage, but despite the often unnecessary risks, trading in information always paid well. Visiting Mateo was out of the question, since it was from him she had obtained the coordinates in the first place. Those coordinates led her to this overheard bit of transmission on the way out of Sigis Station with a very interesting find. What she heard had stopped her dead in her tracks, but she needed to be sure.
Felix was her favorite of the data brokers. He knew what he was doing, he had all the right contacts, and better yet, he was filthy rich. Supposedly, he was the illegitimate son of some greater noble, who had been fostered off to a minor house in exchange for more money than the family ever dreamed of. That was Felix’s version of the story anyway. He was reliable for business dealings, but boasted and exaggerated about nearly everything else, and he always had a flair for the dramatic!
His personal craft, his home away from home, as he called it, was a grand cruiser that Valentina found on the edge of The Pale, in Serenity’s Pyre. Despite the name, which suggested that some explorer had a bad time of it at some point, Serenity’s Pyre was a bustling sector filled with the traffic of a new system that was just getting on its feet. Better yet, it had enough people that it would be easy for Valentina to vanish into the crowd if she suddenly discovered a tail. Felix’s cruiser wasn’t huge, but it could swallow up the Asterias with ease, and it offered every luxury a semi-legal noble playboy might ask for.
“And here I thought you were holding our little argument against me,” Felix laughed as Valentina walked into a comfortable sitting room away from the main thoroughfare. It wasn’t the one he used for the Nobility, and Valentina was glad. Luxury like that made her uncomfortable. “You did strike me.”
“You tried to short me half the job’s value,” Valentina said with a snort, but she stood on her toes to plant a kiss on his cheek. “You’re a scoundrel, but your tech is exquisite and I have a curious transmission I need help making sense of.”
“Oh, intriguing,” Felix said with genuine delight. He poured out two glasses of something fizzy and golden that looked very expensive. He offered one to Valentina, who took it cautiously. It wasn’t poison she was worried about. It was the gold infusion that wealthy folks loved to insist on calling an enhancement. It wasn’t. Felix had strange taste in everything, and his taste in spirits was no exception. “Let’s off to the lab and see if we can’t figure this business out. I assume you have a recording?”
“Would I come to you without one?”
“No, I suppose not. Alright, let’s hear it.”
They weren’t alone in the hallway, but Valentina figured that was Felix’s problem, not hers. She wasn’t about to give him a discount if one of his nosy guests spread the information around without his permission.
“It’s odd,” she warned him, and pulled out her comm and casually tapped the recording. “Almost as odd as where I was at the time I recorded it.”
“Intriguing,” Felix murmured, and fell silent to listen.
“…Relics are in there somewhere. If we can find-” the transmission crackled and became inaudible through the thick static that plagued all transmissions close to the Miasma. “The weapon… will pay through the nose… Prince Gabriel.”
“Well, well,” Felix said with wide eyes when the transmission ended. Valentina saw a cluster of Felix’s guests, all dressed in more finery than she could ever afford, watching them a little too closely. “The Prince, how very interesting. So, why did you come to me?”
“You’ve got some of the best Royal tech anyone can get their hands on,” Valentina told him, which was the truth. “And you pay a good price for information that’s worth anything.”
“I suppose I could clean it up a bit,” Felix said, and opened the door into his lab. He plugged her comm into his equipment and got to work cleaning up the transmission. “I suppose I do owe you one for that last little tiff, but above all I’m a businessman.”
“We’ll split it 50/50 if it’s worth anything.” Valentina rolled her eyes at him. She probably could have gotten him to do it for free, but this was faster. She didn’t like the way that cluster of nobles had been watching her. “Well?”
He listened to a snippet and said authoritatively, “Well, you have something and I’m interested,” handing her comm back with the finished product. He glanced at the three nobles eyeing through the plasti-glass and edging ever closer to the door of the lab. Valentina didn’t make any sudden moves, and she knew better than to reach for her blaster. She did set down her glass of gold fizz. “But it seems I’m not the only one. Get back to the Asterias and make haste, I’ll stall for as long as I can.” And with that Valentina slipped out the servants entry, down a series of stairs and was gone, hopefully not followed.
Now that Valentina has entered The Pale, the next cluster of the CELESTIAL CLAIM LAND PRESALE will be available very soon in the Gala Games store! Keep watch over Valentina’s adventures, because you never know when she may need your help!
The next star Cluster (The Pale), will be sold in increasing price tiers, so the earlier you secure your Claim, the cheaper it will be! Sign up for the latest updates at the ECHOES OF EMPIRE WEBSITE!
You keep hearing about this awesome play-to-earn farming game from some of the creators of Zynga and Farmville 2. You see articles, videos, tweets and more about how Town Star can be as rewarding as it is enjoyable. Finally you concede in your daily battle with FOMO, you find a sliver of time in your busy schedule, and you sit down to learn and play Town Star for the first time.
What do you do first? Where do you go? To whom do you turn to get the goods on all the play-to-earn potential of this simple-at-first-glance game?
Create an Account
Creating a Gala Games account is easy. Still, because this is a web3 experience, the process is more secure (and a bit more involved) than the typical sign in with social media approach with which you’re familiar. Your Gala Games account involves cryptocurrency, blockchain transactions and wallets, so it’s important to understand the process. You should take every step to ensure that your Gala home is safe and secure.
Once you have created an account, you will have an Ethereum-compatible wallet that is able to safely hold all your Gala Games assets, including of course your Town Star Play-to-Earn items.
For a complete account creation guide from Gala Games Support, visit THIS PAGE.
Join the Community
After creating your account, it’s time to set yourself up for success by meeting the real Town Stat experts: our incredible community. They live in Discord, and they are always happy to help new players in any way they can.
Now that your account is setup and secure and you’ve joined the Discord community, it’s time to experience Town Star for the first time. In the Gala Games App, visit the GAMES tab, and under Town Star, choose PLAY.
Once the browser game loads, you’ll be asked to join a server. You’re not quite ready for the Weekly Competition yet (you will be soon!), so choose one of the available Play-to-Earn Servers instead.
Next, you’ll see a map of the whole world, where you’re prompted to choose a location for your Town. Don’t worry. If you’re not happy with your first location after playing for a few minutes, you can scrap your town and start over very easily.
To learn exactly what goes into an effective location selection, as well as basic controls and an overview of gameplay once your location is selected, visit THIS PAGE at Townstar.com, the official Town Star website.
Learn the Basics
By browsing the other guides at Townstar.com and checking out some of the great community made video guides on Youtube, you should be able to develop a solid understanding of gameplay in your first hour. You’ll realize that while the game is relaxing and enjoyable, it’s also designed for serious gaming strategists.
This game is about building your town into a machine that produces things as quickly and efficiently as possible. The workers that come with various buildings will always fulfill their duties, and it’s your job to make sure they follow the path of least resistance. Create an environment where their work is done easily and with minimal in-game expense.
You will continue growing, building and expanding until your entire 16 x 16 town is bustling with life. Even then, you’ll need to manage storage and deliveries, while making regular calibration tweaks to your systems of production. Once you’ve learned the basics of the game, you’ll be ready to participate in the Weekly Competition, or start playing to earn with NFTs on a daily basis!
Play-to-Earn
Playing to earn TOWN is one of the primary player goals in Town Star, but stepping into this realm adds new degrees of strategy and complexity to the game.
Prerequisites — There are three things that every player who participates in TSP2E must have…
Owned Blockchain Items (also known as NFTs) — Each playable Town Star item that is owned by players as a blockchain item is eligible to earn daily TOWN rewards. The amount of rewards for each item is is determined by several factors, including (but not limited to) the rarity of the item.
GALA or TOWN in your Wallet — Remember, your Gala Games account is also an Ethereum-compatible crypto wallet that can hold both GALA and TOWN. In terms of TSP2E, holding these cryptos in your account equates to Gala Power, a measurement of your play-to-earn potential in the games. In Town Star, your Gala Power Level equals the exact number of owned NFT items for which you are able to earn rewards each day.
Season Access — In order to earn rewards on a daily basis, players must have access to the current season of TSP2E. As of November 2021, we are still in the first season of play. Because access is free for season 1, this is the perfect time to gather up some NFTs and start playing to earn in Town Star.
To unlock each day’s rewards, players must additionally complete a Daily Challenge within the game. This can involve collecting a certain number of Stars (points), selling a certain number of goods, accumulating a certain amount of in-game cash or more.
Once completed in a 24 hour period, players can claim their rewards for all NFTs that are placed within their town at the time of claiming.
How to Get NFTs
Building your Town Star NFT collection is tons of fun, because it comes with its own complete set of strategic challenges. Not long ago, blockchain NFTs were strictly collectibles with no additional utility. Now, thanks to pioneers in the space like Gala Games, blockchain gaming items can also have play-to-earn utility, or the ability to earn real rewards for using them in games.
There’s no need to worry about building a whole NFT collection on your first day, but once you understand how it all works, you’ll want to start working on your collection as quickly as possible. Here are some things to keep in mind so that you’ll be ready when it’s time to start buying (and selling).
When deciding how to build up your Town Star NFT collection, you must look not only at the rarity, price, and reward potential for certain NFTs, but the ways in which they benefit and enhance your gameplay. Town Star NFTs almost always offer some valuable advantage in-game, such as additional storage or passive resource production.
Buying from the Town Star Store
Making NFT purchases through Gala Games is easy. Several different cryptocurrencies are accepted as payment, but remember to always have some ETH in your account as well to cover network fees (gas) when transferring or minting.
There are always plenty of items available in limited supply through the Gala Games store, but the true beauty of blockchain gaming is the secondary market. Because players actually own these items, they can be bought and sold p2p (peer to peer) on secondary markets like OpenSea.io.
Connecting to OpenSea
Because your Gala Games account has an Ethereum-compatible wallet, you can directly connect your account to Metamask, the leading web3 wallet, to allow easier access of secondary markets like OpenSea.
Follow THIS GUIDE to import your Gala Games account to Metamask using your 12-word recovery phrase. You can also keep a separate wallet for secondary market sales via OpenSea, but then you’ll have the added step of transferring assets from your Gala Games account to that wallet before listing.
Buying From Secondary Markets
Every new NFT item sold by Gala Games is limited in supply, and they often sell out quickly in the primary (store) sale. Thanks to secondary markets, new players and collectors still get a chance to own some of these sold out NFTs. Gala Gamers have fun browsing the secondary market listings on a daily basis looking for good deals.
Selling On Secondary Markets
Selling your NFTs on the secondary market is easier than you may think. Blockchain technology, Gala Games, and the leading trustless market created by OpenSea allow players to list NFT items directly from their Gala Games wallets. Potential buyers know they can trust your Town Star NFT is legitimate simply because it’s part of the verified Town Star collection on OpenSea. As soon as your item sells, cryptocurrency is delivered directly to your wallet.
Good luck out there as you begin your Town Star adventure! We know you’re gonna love this game!
Conversation surrounding December 6th’s upcoming Mirandus VOX Drop has been building momentum, as the Gala Games community waits for the most exciting portions of information to be revealed.
In Discord, thousands have participated in the first two community Mini-Quests, helping us last week to design a Legendary Sword, and this week to tell the story of the Legendary Everflow Elf VOX.
Gala Labs has gained an invaluable peek into the mind of Mirandus Game Director Michael McCarthy, and today we return with some highly anticipated info regarding future utility for this series of 8888 unique Mirandus VOX.
Exemplars and Charms
The most perceptive among you may have noticed that many of the Mirandus VOX represent specific Exemplars. For example, some VOX will be variations of the Legendary Everflow Elf, while others may be unique variations of the human Seafarers, the Clearblood Orcs, or the Iron Shaper Dwarves. All Exemplars will be represented by their own class of Mirandus VOX.
Facing the mysteries of Mirandus alone is scary, even for an Exemplar. That’s why the Mirandus VOX series will be your “charm” in the game: Think of them as a good luck token or a small but powerful relic to slip into your pocket on your adventures. They are a way to power up your Exemplar. When you own an Exemplar and the matching VOX, you receive a special boost to your Exemplar’s innate abilities.
Keep in mind that to unlock the rare power of a Mirandus VOX Charm, you must own both the Exemplar and the corresponding VOX. For example, a Mirandus VOX Bone Orc will only pair with a Bone Orc Exemplar; a VOX Darksun Elf will only pair with a Darksun Elf Exemplar. Matching Exemplar to VOX is a quest entirely its own. There is no way of knowing what VOX your Boxes will contain, so the strategic choices surrounding this quest are yours alone to make.
You may want to load up on Exemplars in hopes that your VOX will align with them, or you may plan on waiting until your VOX are revealed before acquiring the appropriate Exemplar. Remember that every Mirandus Exemplar is limited in supply, so do not hesitate, and always trust your instincts.
Town Star Season 2
At the time Mirandus VOX are revealed, there will be no play-to-earn utility in Town Star. However, once Town Star Play-to-Earn has entered Season 2, Mirandus VOX will be eligible to earn daily TOWN rewards!
Within Town Star, Mirandus VOX rarities will work differently than the rarities of Town Star VOX from the inaugural series. Earnings will generally be lower than Town Star VOX (who are much more comfortable walking the streets and fields of a Town Star town), and Mirandus VOX will not affect the earnings of Town Star VOX in any way.
Additional Utility
Don’t forget that VOXverse and VOXcoin are coming, as well as other untold surprises. VOX are “avatars that DeFi” for multiple reasons, and these initial play-to-earn utilities are merely scratching the surface.
In the remaining days before the big drop, look for more announcements about exciting additional bonuses and hunts, including more specifics on Mirandus in-game utility. For now, we will only drop a couple hints of these additional perks:
Beastly Bonuses await.
Familiarize Yourself with Dragons.
MIRANDUS VOX DISCORD AMA
Michael McCarthy (Mirandus Game Director) and James Olden (Gala Chief Strategy Officer) will be in Discord (VOX discussion channel) today, Friday at 5pm PST, answering the community’s questions for at least half an hour.
If you want to know more about Mirandus VOX and their upcoming utilities, come with your questions ready!
