Upcoming $GALA(v2) Contract Upgrade

The new $GALA contract goes live on Monday, May 15th. Here’s a list of exchanges that have announced their support.

As detailed in THIS BLOG, a massive contract upgrade to the Gala Games ecosystem will soon take effect. When this happens, the new $GALA(v2) token will be issued 1:1 for all $GALA and all support/utility for the original $GALA token will simultaneously cease.

The snapshot/upgrade will take place on Monday, May 15th at approximately 12pm PT.

While this upgrade allowed for a smooth replacement token issuance solution to all $GALA holders, it has led to some expected inconveniences for those who have chosen to hold their $GALA on a centralized exchange. The exchange is always the actual owner of the user’s wallet on that exchange because the exchange owns the private keys to that wallet.

In the case of these custodial wallets, the exchange itself will receive the $GALA(v2) as the owner of the wallet. We have been working diligently behind the scenes to contact representatives of the many exchanges that have listed the $GALA token. Still, with the contract upgrade and new token issuance only a week away, we anticipate that a large handful of exchanges will not respond in time to announce their support. If you have chosen to keep your crypto in a custodial exchange wallet for this transition, please ensure that your exchange is on this list.

If you store your $GALA on an exchange that is NOT on this list, it is at your own risk and we cannot guarantee that your funds will be recoverable.

Please note that after the completion of the $GALA contract upgrade, we strongly advise centralized exchanges against supporting deposits and withdrawals for the $GALA(v1) token. This is in line with our efforts to ensure a smooth transition and to prevent any potential scams or confusion for our users.
