The Night Just Got Real: Play Instantly, Defend What’s Yours

Adventurers β€” today’s update to Mirandus: Eternal Night is live, and it changes both how you *enter* the world and how you *hold on to* your piece of it. Anyone can now step into the Night in seconds, the wilds push back against settlements for the first time, and a brand-new Land Deed joins the map. Here’s everything in today’s build.

πŸšͺ Step Into the Night β€” No Wallet Needed

The gates are open. With the new Guest System, you can play Eternal Night instantly in your browser β€” no wallet, no setup, no barrier. Explore the hex map, fight, harvest, craft, earn Gold, and shop β€” the full core of the game, from your very first click.

When you’re ready for more, create a Gala account and connect a wallet at any time to unlock the web3 side of Eternal Night β€” and everything you’ve earned as a guest carries over. Your progress, inventory, and Gold come with you. Nothing resets, ever.

Already exploring as a guest? Everything web3 stays visible in the world, so you can see exactly what a wallet unlocks before you commit.

One word of caution: a guest account can be lost. To keep your adventure safe, we recommend creating a Gala or MetaMask account and logging in with your wallet β€” your progress will be secured to your account from then on.

βš”οΈ Zone Threat Bites: Deed Degradation & Repair

Until today, planting a settlement was forever. No more. Every zone on the map has a Threat Level β€” a live number shown right on the zone’s name tag, driven by the enemies prowling it. Every creature carries its own threat value, and killing it removes that value from the zone in real time: fell 2 wolves and the Threat Level drops by 1 β€” while heavier beasts like brute goblins are worth several wolves each. Let them multiply, and the number climbs back up.

If a zone’s threat rises above what your Deed can withstand, your settlement starts taking damage over time. You’ll see the warning: a pulsing alert on the map and a new Threat tab in your Deed panel showing your settlement’s HP and the zone’s threat. Left ignored long enough, a settlement breaks β€” the light goes out, the hex is liberated for other players, and the Deed returns to your inventory in a Broken state.

Fighting back is simple:

  • Clear the threat. Hunt down the enemies in your zone and the damage stops.
  • Repair Kits β€” craft them from materials; each kit restores 600 HP to your settlement.
  • $GALA repair β€” burn 10 $GALA to instantly restore 1,200 HP.

The rhythm is deliberate: threat builds gradually as enemies respawn, so an attentive owner always has time to react. Settlements reward the players who tend them.

Tent users, breathe easy β€” temporary shelters are untouched by all of this. They expire by duration, exactly as before, and never take threat damage.

🌾 New Land Deed: The Village of the Farmer

A new home awaits. The Village of the Farmer is an Epic Land Deed making its debut in Eternal Night β€” a haven of light against the Night, where the weary find shelter and merchants set up shop. Its glow pierces the Fog and holds the wilds at bay; within its borders, adventurers rest, recover, and return to the hunt. And there is room to grow β€” grounds for shops, houses, and workshops, the makings of a true settlement.

πŸ—ΊοΈ A Smarter Frontier: Zone Difficulty Rebalance

The world now ramps the way it should. Zones are organized into difficulty tiers: the lands near your starting grounds host lighter foes, and enemy packs grow tougher and more varied the deeper you push. Enemy respawns fill in gradually rather than all at once β€” so a freshly cleared zone stays cleared for a while, and threat builds at a pace you can see coming. Early-zone difficulty spikes reported by the community have been fixed in this pass. Danger now equals distance β€” and reward.

πŸŒ’ What’s Next

The wilds have learned to strike back β€” and soon you’ll be able to put a price on their heads. Bounties are coming to Eternal Night, letting Deed owners rally hunters to their defense. Sharpen your blades.

See you in the Night. πŸŒ’
