At Gala Film, our goal has always been to foster a dynamic and evolving ecosystem. As part of our ongoing effort to align with long-term sustainability objectives, we are initiating a temporary pause in $FILM emissions effective Monday, June 11. Adaptability is essential, particularly in a fast-evolving space like Web3.
This change relates to various ecosystem participants, including Moment holders Node operators, filmmakers, and Gala Film itself. It represents a thoughtful and proactive adjustment to support long-term sustainability and growth.
While we understand that this news may change how some users interact with the platform in the short term,the missions are a critical part of how the network incentivizes contribution and participation. This pause is a well-considered course correction made with the long-term health of the ecosystem and enhancing future opportunities for meaningful engagement and participation.
We’re entering a new phase focused on expanding the Gala Film catalog, onboarding new users, and increasing long-term utility and ecosystem engagement for the entire Gala Film network. If we’re serious about creating a future-proof platform that supports creators, node operators, and fans alike, we also need to be willing to make the hard decisions supporting that goal.
Any future adjustments to $FILM emissions will be informed by various factors, including platform growth, user behavior, and internal assessments. While we will resume emissions in the future, expect changes not just in the rate of emissions but also in the formula and logic that drives them.
To our Node Operators
We understand that this temporary pause relates to the current incentive structure for the Node operators. While operating a node has always been a voluntary contribution to the Gala Film ecosystem, we want to express our sincere appreciation for the ongoing support and commitment shown by our Node community. As with all aspects of a growing ecosystem, the structure and availability of emissions may evolve as the platform grows, but one thing remains true, which is that we deeply value the role Node Operators play in supporting the platform. As we move forward, we are actively exploring new ways to enhance utility and ensure long-term alignment with the contributions you continue to make.
We hope this decision is understood in the spirit it’s intended, as a necessary step toward a stronger, more resilient, and driven Gala Film ecosystem. More updates to follow in the coming weeks.

At Gala Film, we’re proud to lead the charge in building a decentralized content delivery network (DCDN) powered by our incredible DePIN providers. Theatre Nodes have always been at the heart of this bold vision, ensuring seamless content delivery while shaping the future of entertainment. Today, we want to announce a set of meaningful updates to improve our reward incentives for Theatre Node operators, and to reinforce our commitment to a sustainable ecosystem.
Here’s what’s coming:
1. A 5% Boost to Daily Allocation
Our node operators are the backbone of our ecosystem and their support matters to us. That’s why as of Feb 1st, we’re increasing the daily allocation for Theatre Node operators from 17.5% to 22.5%.
To make this happen, we’ll reallocate 2.5% from the Operating Entity, and 2.5% from Ecosystem Supporting Actions (Key Stone). We hope that this change not only benefits node operators but also reflects our commitment to ensuring long-term viability for our decentralized backbone.
Note: As a result of reducing Ecosystem Supporting Actions to 7.5%, we anticipate a higher daily emission rate due to a smaller keystone weighting. This means, with the current platform activity we can expect the estimated overall daily emission to increase by 20%, benefiting all participants.
2. Mystery Rewards for Theatre Node Operators
We’re bringing back a long time tradition at Gala to turn up the excitement with randomized rewards! Starting this month, we’ll be dropping the following prizes to randomly selected theatre nodes with the final distribution of every month:
- 100 Moments
- 200 Premiere Mystery Boxes
These rewards will be distributed across random qualifying nodes from our content library. As a Theatre Node operator, you’ll not only power the Gala Film experience but also have the chance to own Moments and unlock exclusive content from our library.
3. $FILM is the Future
Beginning February 1st, Theatre Nodes will only be available for purchase with $FILM, our native token. What’s more, every $FILM used for node purchases will be 100% burned, strengthening Gala’s ecosystem.
This will be done to solidify our commitment to making $FILM the lifeline of Gala Film and ensuring that our ecosystem remains robust and aligned with our decentralized principles.
