A New Chapter in the $MUSIC Ecosystem
As we continue to make revolutionary waves in music and tech, we’re excited to announce a new phase of growth for the Gala Music ecosystem. Today we’re outlining significant updates for $MUSIC tokenomics, ushering in a more transparent, equitable and dynamic tokenomics model.
These upcoming changes reflect a strategic shift with the goal of benefitting all types of ecosystem participants from artists and producers to fans and collectors. Let’s dive into the key updates shaping the future of Gala Music!
Dynamic $MUSIC Emissions Based on Ecosystem Activity
In a major change from the previous bonding curve based on redeeming new Tracks , $MUSIC will now adopt a dynamic emissions model based on ecosystem activity. Rather than solely relying on new track releases, the amount of $MUSIC emitted each day will be determined by the level of activity across the platform.
The more engagement, the higher the daily emissions, with a set maximum limit. On days with lower activity, emissions will decrease, with a minimum cap in place to stabilize fluctuations.
Emissions will be calculated using a 7-day rolling average to ensure stability, and the emission rate is designed to gradually taper off as the ecosystem continues to grow. This shift is expected to bring more balance and sustainability to $MUSIC’s supply. Full details can be found in the whitepaper’s Section 3.4.
Once this change is live, a new global $MUSIC distribution page on the platform will also provide users with a clear visualization of the new system.
Standardizing Jukebox Node Rewards
Jukebox Node operators will now enjoy a more standardized rewards system. Going forward, all nodes that meet a minimum uptime requirement of 20 hours in a day will receive a share of daily rewards, removing the previous variability caused by track performance and number of tracks paired. This will make node rewards more predictable, based on availability to host rather than direct track hosting.
For users with more than 15 node slots, they will be rewarded with daily ecosystem support points and eligible for additional rewards from the daily ESA pool.
To reflect this change, you’ll soon see an updated Jukebox Node section on the Gala Music platform.
Removal of Track Rarities and Upgradability
In an effort to streamline the rewards system, $MUSIC is officially moving away from the Track Upgradability and rarity system (Editions). Track rewards will now be determined purely by popularity and circulation, removing arbitrary rarity-driven reward variations. This update creates a more equitable structure where success is driven by actual engagement with music. However, Exclusive Tracks will continue to offer enhanced rewards to encourage the release of unique content on the platform.
These updates represent a forward-thinking approach to tokenomics within the Gala Music ecosystem, reaching toward sustainability, fairness and enhanced community engagement. The future of $MUSIC is one of greater transparency, deeper artist-fan connections and decentralized growth. We could not be more excited and we’re grateful to you for being part of this journey with us.
