On Saturday, August 24th, Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov was arrested and detained by French authorities after arriving on a flight from Azerbaijan.
On Wednesday, August 28th, the tech innovator was charged in a French court for a wide range of crimes allegedly perpetrated on the encrypted messaging app used by nearly a billion people worldwide. Now barred from leaving France, Durov is potentially facing years in prison for failing to prevent a variety of criminal activity on the platform he founded.
