Here we are once again to bring you another closeup of a professional with unparalleled expertise, working diligently to bring you the future of entertainment.
The future isn’t created in private. These days, we don’t labor in solitude, racing each other to bring the future to life. We craft our future together. Collaborating and cooperating to bring something new into life is the way of Web3, and those that change the world of the tomorrow are the ones who understand that today.
Today we’re focusing on someone who understands that what connects us is more important than what drives us apart. Each day, he’s out there fostering commonality and communication between disparate communities, bringing people together to forge authentic connections, and reminding us that a growing Web3 world doesn’t mean we need to be further apart.
Decentralization can’t mean isolation, and there’s one man working hard everyday to make sure that it never does — Wasif!!!
What is your role at Gala Games?
Senior Manager of Web3 Marketing — Classy Barbarian
Why did you choose your Galaxian Title?
I play D&D and the first class I ever played was a Barbarian. The class has a reputation for being straightforward and crass. However, I find the direct and sincere nature of Barbarians to be their most likable characteristic. As a marketer, direct and sincere communication can be a powerful way to engage with consumers.
What inspired you to do what you do for a living?
While I was in grad school, I was watching a lot of Mad Men. The show has its issues and it does not paint an altogether flattering picture of the advertising industry, but I became obsessed with the artistry of salesmanship and persuasion.
More than anything, I learned that effective marketing is done through storytelling and I wanted to hone my skills in this area. I switched my concentration from finance to marketing and never looked back. Many people who watch Mad Men admire Don Draper, but I always saw myself in Peggy Olsen and admired her career trajectory from Don’s assistant to a marketing executive who outshined her mentor.
Favorite book?
For fiction, I really love The Witcher series by Andrezej Sapkowski. It’s incredible how a book translated from Polish can still carry its rhythmic –almost poetic– cadence in English. It’s also nice to see how much the world of The Witcher has tapped into mainstream culture via the video games by CD Project Red and the Netflix Series.
For Non Fiction, I really love the Power of Now by Ekhart Tolle. Helped me get through some of my challenges with overthinking.
Favorite part of the Gala Games community?
People here have a great sense of humor. For such a large company, the jokes and banter over Slack makes it feel like we all know each other.

What are your favorite games?
As I start my first day at Gala Games, I began to think about my long history with video games.medium.com
For Triple A titles — I love Witcher 3, Dark Souls, Skyrim, StarCraft, WoW, Overwatch, League, MTGA, Smash, Streetfighter and Soul Calibur.
For Indie Titles, I am a big fan of all things Supergiant. Bastion and Pyre hold a special place in my heart. I also love Stardew Valley and the 1 man studio behind the game.
Favorite music?
I was a metalhead as a kid. Loved System of a Down, Disturbed, Godsmack, and Korn. Got into heavier stuff as I got older, like Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying and some classics like Iron Maiden. In college I got into more prog metal like Tool and Dream Theater. My tastes have changed over time and these days I listen to a lot of lofi hip hop radio — beats to relax/study to.
